[ORD 2020R2] Delineate watershed/drainage areas?

$

I have a couple of hundred small structures to generate drainage areas for. I have National Map lidar, and I can create terrains from those point clouds.

I do not know how to analyze those terrains to automatically delineate the watersheds. It was fairly simple in Geopak. Matter of fact, I had been generating my terrains, exporting them to TINs and opening them in Geopak to delineate the drainage. I thought it might make more sense to cut out those extra steps - but I can't figure out how to process any kind of drainage delineation or ridge lines for a terrain. I thought it might be in Drainage, but that looks like something I use after I already know that information.

Am I overlooking something, or is it not available?
Thank you.

Create Cross Sections - Issue

I'm using Power Geopak V8i SS10.

I am designing a full road reconstruction, I have horizontal and vertical geometry complete with a corridor attached and completed. When attempting to run the create cross sections command at 25' intervals, the program runs cross sections only if I select Stacked but if I select sheet it takes me to temp cross section view immediately with no cross sections created.

Let me know if I need to include more information to help.

Thank you!

ORD R3U9 - Import Geometry - Feature Definitions Table

The latest release of ORD (10.09.01.07) has some enhancements to the Import Geometry command. Namely the 'Assign Feature Definitions from Table option'. It appears the table should be in an excel spreadsheet but I can't find how the spreadsheet should be setup.  Is there any information on how to use this?

hello

I have updated my openroads designer to version 10.09.00.91. However anytime i try to open the dgn files on the student server, the software keeps crashing. The files in particular are those in the 2020 data set. i doubt the fault is from my laptop as i am using a new laptop with 16gig ram and nvida graphics card.

Interesting some files open without any fault but majority dont.

Any help? are the files on the server corrupt or do i have to twig some settings. Its becoming frustrating as i am unable to follow the tutorials with the files.

thanks

Excavation plan with ORD 2020

There are different excavation depths and different excavation slopes on the basis of the building, whose photographs I have attached.

I prepared this excavation plan with Civil3D. How can I make such an excavation plan with openroads?

I have to work with ORD 2020 version and frankly I am an entry level user.

Where should I start and how should I proceed.

How the elevations of the line follow the surface?

How can I make a straight line break where the surface breaks by following the surface?
Screen shot is from Civil3D;
Looking from above, the green circles above the red line indicate where the line breaks along the surface.
When you look from perspective, you can see that the line follows the surface.
What you see in 3D is actually a straight line from above.
How can I do this with Openroads designer 2020?

Missing Cross Section

Hi,

I'm using ORD 2020 Release 3 Update 9, Version 10.09.00.91.

I don't see the cross section elements (the 3D components), I looked for solution here, but with no success.

Is there anything else I can look for?

Openroads: How to Display Existing Utilities in Cross-Sections?

$

Currently, I have my existing utility lines in 2d view with a feature definition and plotted them at an assumed depth of 3' below existing ground in profile view and set as active profile. Typically, in SS4 and SS10 this worked in terms of displaying the utility line in my cross-sections views. However, in Openroads it shows my utilities only as a point. I am unable to display the height and width of the utilities. Is there something crucial I am missing or is this process done entirely different.

Hi,

it's been asked before, but that post was from a year ago. I'm looking for an overview of key-ins for OpenRoads. Needed to customize the ribbon.

Does anyone know where to find them?

[ORD] Any way to hide label dimension styles?

$

I've been watching some of the training about ORD annotation groups and labels.

Apparently, each label needs a dimension style to go with it, and if there is a dimension style with the same name as a label, it will be activated automatically. This sounds pretty foolproof...EXCEPT!

That gives me a LOT of "extra" dimensions styles that will be used for labels and nothing else.

I don't want my users to have to sort through three dozen dimensions styles to find the one they are actually supposed to dimension with. They WILL pick the wrong one. I'd like to have some way to...miniimize...the list while leaving the styles available to the software.

On some levels I will be bound by our client standards. But if there's anything I can do to keep the list "clean", I'd prefer it. I know I can do some creative naming, but the list will still be long.

What are you all doing to manage this?

Openroads files crash upon clicking "update from library"

$

Hello everyone,

I have a file I've worked on for a few months now and just recently I've encountered a problem (probably with dgnlibs): when I open the file and click update from standards in the standards category, the file crashes. I tried many solutions from the forum, I tried to find some workarounds or clear the file but nothing works.

  1. Cleared user preferences - didn't work at all
  2. Compressing the file doesn't work
  3. Cleared dgnlibs (text favs, levels, annotations dgnlib) - didn't work
  4. I tried to delete some elements in the files - ORD keeps crashing every time I touch alignments

For the record, I had this issue some 3-4 months ago and I "resolved" it by removing feature definitions, symbologies, and all the other categories 1 by 1 in the model file. Only after deleting some of them could I finally update the standards and work as before.

There is 1 more thing worth mentioning - I encountered this issue simultaneously with another problem shown below (alignments lost their properties and the wheel next to complex element keeps spinning).

 communities.bentley.com/.../4331.Exception.log

If anyone has any idea how to resolve these issues then please let me know. I couldn't find any similar problems on the forum. Thanks in advance for any response.

Issues importing points from .csv files and annotation ORD

$

When importing points from .csv files often times it does not import all the points, is there a way to perform a QC check? I have used the survey details tool to compare the number of points to my .csv with the number of points in the model but it often created multiple points depending on the note so I can't compare that. also when I try to annotate the model to annotate the survey points my file just freezes. any help would be appreciated

delete cross section model

$

I have been struggling to cut cross sections the way that I want them. When I run the create cross section command, it creates the cross sections and then opens them in a viewport named "xxxxx Temp" and then if I close and reopen dgn the viewport is gone. But when I go to cross section viewer, there is a drop down of all the temp cross sections I have created. How do I delete these cross section models to be sure that when I am ready to put into sheets they are the correct cross sections being plotted.

Thanks
