two tips for enhanced functionality of OpenX products.
1. Add please a button "Apply" to all commands as alternative to current workflow.
Current workflow is very very frustrating and time consuming for me.
After settings all parameters I need to go through every parameters and confirm it again by clicking to drawing.
Why? Even after years, I'm not used to it.
2.
Please set one graphics group for one annotated group (for example stationing annotation of one alignment)
to have the ability to delete it by one click (I know about Remove Element Annotation).
I think a small effort for Bentley and big benefits to users.

MX road cross section-- How to display formation width with dimension Styles
Hi,
I am trying to generate cross section drawings for Rail Yard with multiple tracks in MX Road. I need to display the dimensions showing the width of formation edge from outer track center, and distance between the track centers in the Cross Secion drawings.
Is it possible to genereate the cross sections in MX displaying width dimension in any mode (Tool tips or Line mode). The width dimension shown in white color in the attched image. If it is possible to do in Linemode command, please let me know.

Resientemente eh tratado de obtener el software OpenRoads con una licencia educativa de una escuela en la cual estoy realizando un master , sin embargo solo eh podido descargar el CONNECTION client, aun no eh podido obtener el software, no se que estoy haciendo mal , pero no me salen las opciones de descarga del mismo.

Profile Drawings Horizontal Geometry
Hi,
I am working with 2 alignments - one for rail and one for road and I am trying to setup the Frame Annotation so that it shows the both alignments (vertical and horizontal) geometry. I know if you have multiple profiles you can add aliases, but is there something similar for the vertical and horizontal geometry in one go. An option would be to create separate drawings and then reference them so I get the end result, but I am hoping to a more elegant solution.

Re-Assigning Linear Template to another Element
OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition 2020 - Release 2 (10.1.8.33)
Hello,
I had to modify a portion of a complex edge of pavement feature. This complex edge of pavement feature had a linear template assigned along a radius return. Is there a way to re-assign the feature that the linear template drop is based on while preserving the edits to the template drop? Or do I need to start over? The old edge of pavement feature (white) has a red arrow pointing at it in the image below. The new feature is moved out a couple feet in white. I guess this brings up an additional question in regard to editing a piece of complex horizontal geometry - is it best practice to use the tool "Drop Complex Status" to edit a portion of a complex line and then re-complex it together? I had to remove a single radius and replace it with two radii and a tangent. Thanks!

Locked Geometry Grayed out - cannot edit?
OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition 2020 Release 2 - 10.1.8.33
Hello, I am trying to edit a complex horizontal linear geometry feature (an edge of pavement). It appears as if I can edit it, but upon inspecting the properties, the element is locked, and there appears to be no way to unlock it because it is grayed out. Furthermore, I do not see the PV_P_Edge of Pavement feature shown in the Explorer (it is called "SW") even though it has the PV_P_Edge of Pavement feature definition. Any idea what could be happening?

OpenRoads SignCAD Help?
I have the Manual, but I was looking for a Help file? the Help menu only gives me "About", which is not helpful whatsoever.
I'd like to know how to customize (and even understand!) the dimensions, set up preferences, get around in the software...The manual does NOT appear to cover everything in the interface.
This looks like good software if I understood how it worked, but without a Help file to look things up, I'm kind of dead in the water. And it would be better if I could look up what I need instead of searching through a bunch of tutorials to find the item I am looking for. I also haven't found a Help file online.
Clicking the Help button in any of the dialogs brings up nothing.
Is there no Help file, or is there just something missing from my installation?

ORD Annotation not updating from DGNLIB
Folks:
I have a rather frustrating situation where I have added a new annotation definition within the DGNLIB and it is not showing up when annotating an alignment. I have created such things- many of them- for various alignment styles before with no issue; however, this little simple addition is not being copied into my design file through the element or model annotation ribbon command. Attached, I have three images which show the issue. In the first image, I show the original bearing and distance label and the annotation group assigned to this alignment. The alignment should have copied in the Alignment Type Label (boxed in red), and upon adding an existing annotation, one can see that this label is from the DGNLIB, but shows in a grey "palette" rather than a "penciled" annotation. Upon executing the palette, the annotation is brought in and it as well as the annotation definition is copied into the active design file (image three). All of these annotation should have been brought into the file to begin with. Why is this happening?

How to use the Generative Components for ORD?
Hi ,
The latest Openroads Designer and OpenBridge Modeler have included the Generative Components(computational design) ,
But could you please tell us how to use , and what are the key features?
Can I use the GC node to control the civil modeling or corridor modeling now? just like the Dynamo for Civil 3D.
Whether the OpenRoads development team have the plan to develop GC node for OpenRoads/OpenBridge ?

Tracking horizontal and label station and offset
Hi,
I used to be able to track a horizontal alignment and to label the station and offset (the label would be on a construction level) on SS4 inroad
With ORD I can analyze the horizontal alignment, but it won't let me place a label of the station/offset. Anybody know how to do it?

Open Roads Geotechnical Module - new user
Attempting to connect gINT datanase into the Open Roads Geotech module - symbols for data representation and symbolisation are not available within the database connectivity window (as shown in tutorials). Where do these symbols come from, do i need to create them myself for use in 2D Borehole visualisation, or should they be included within a template?

[GPK SS4/10] How to get Delta angle of a PI w/o curve?
I should know this, but I don't remember it.
I need to label an alignment that has several P.I.s in it. Each of this an angular break without a curve. I'd like to be able to label these PI points with the Delta between bearings, but it seems I can only get that programmatically if it's part of curve data. Since there is no curve, there is no curve data. I can see the bearing angles in the cogo window when I print the chain description, but it doesn't give me the difference between them. I can calculate it if I HAVE to, but that leaves me a lot of room for error.

Unexpected Error when Activating an alternative profile
OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition 2020 Release 2, 10.1.8.33
Hello,
I am trying to make a new vertical alignment active for a horizontal alignment; however when I make the new profile active, I get an "unexpected error" message saying "Unexpected error occurred. Command Exited. Error details: List was modified during iteration." Does anyone know what this means?

[ORD 2020R3] 3SM production with Bing maps not working
Hi,
In the latest ORD R3 we are unable to create a scalable mesh 3sm from a terrain model using Bing map texture. The software keeps processing with processor fully occupied and very little network traffic producing nothing. The geographic coordinate system is assigned to the 3d model and Bing maps can be displayed as a background map in the same file (although this is not required for the 3sm creation). However, the same function works normally with rasters as a texture.
The 3SM production with Bing maps works properly in ORD2020 R1 and R2.
Has anybody experienced similar problems?

Civtools for Openroads or SS10?
Now that I have both Openroads and SS10 on my machine to see what the future of Bentley / Civil is about, my main task for the company I work for is grading out subdivisions for earthwork quantities. Like 300-500 lots at times along with major Site Plans such as shopping centers. I was given the task for 1. I'm good at it and I've done it since before cad was ever available. And 2. Acad can't do it near as fast or as good for it can't draw "curves". I'm talking 5:1 speed difference trying to fit arcs and lines where curves ran through it. Plus the grab points from curves is far superior to arcs for arc grab points is center and 3 points along the edge which creates a false flat spot.
This was the first thing I went for cause it could very well be a game changer for my direction. I tried to load the old one and of course, different language I guess. Then I went through the mdls available and don't see anything that would work same. I've went through all of the curve commands and nothing compares to the old civtools "place contour by curve". Am I missing something? Is it no longer available? Will it be in the near future? As I recall correctly, Civtools was a originally a secondary developed MDL created by an individual and bought by Bentley.
Civtools was a wonderful tool for manual contours on the fly and could never be matched. You simply can't grade straight in cad without it on the scale in which I use do. If no longer available, I hate to curse but reality is, I'd rather just redline for the acad guys to draft in. And Civil3D does everything else we do.
Any help would be appreciated,

GDF File Crashes when Opening (Geopak Drainage)
Geopak Drainage crashed when attempting to build a recently created network. Now whenever I open the GDF file, Geopak Drainage crashes before it loads. I'm worried that the entire file is unsalvageable. Can anyone help me? The file is attached.
It's the same issue as this question here back in 2017.
It looks like someone was able to open it in an older version and restore it (I do not have this option). Can someone please help me? Any way to edit the file outside of Geopak, or just avoid this situation in the future?

terrain modelling
In ORD, I imported the survey data and clicked "created terrain model". In the "feature definition", it only shown "no feature definition". I could not see the existing terrain boundary, contours, and triangulation.
Can you help fix the problem?
