Cul de sac modeling in InRoads
I am trying to figure out how to model cul de sacs in InRoads V8i (series 2). Haven't had any luck finding any resources that walk you through it, and I'm brand new at roadway design and MicroStation/InRoads. Creating the horizontal alignment was simple enough, but it creates the alignment at the edge of the cul de sac. Not sure how to model it and tie it to the alignment for the road leading into the cul de sac. Anyone have any links to videos or be able to explain it in a manner that a greenhorn like me can follow? Thanks.

Drawing Production Tools in OpenRoads Designer
It is really helpful that Drawing Production is automated and based on a "Live" dataset ... but the sprawling labyrinth of interconnected live design models, special view windows, and saved views need to be streamlined.
The user has to go on a Safari through an ecosystem of design models to perform simple tasks ... especially on large projects.
There should be an option for placing the printable profile, cross sections, named boundaries, and associated annotation in a single model just like we do in the SS2 environment.
In such a setup I can have my alignment, profile, and cross sections in one model. Edit the profile annotation then the grades, cross sections, and associated annotations update in real time ... then I hit print ... now that level of simplicity and productivity would get many motivated to use OpenRoads Designer.

ORD - Mouse leaves a Trail of shaded grey
ORD - When I select a command from the ribbon area, my mouse leaves a trail of behind it of shaded grey. Is this a Microstation Connect/ORD setting?. I have ruled out the video card.

What are the functions of Scales in ORD? when creating drawing
Hi,
When I Create Drawing, I get confused about these scales.

The Scale in References dialog
The Scales(Annotation, Design, Paper Scale) in General Properties of Sheet Model
1.Could you please introduce these scales above? What are their functions ?
2.Which Scale decides the Scale in References dialog of Sheet Model?
Basically, I Want to only adjust the Annotation Scale in Sheet Model, then the Sheet Border will be automatically scaled base on the Annotation Scale, at the same time the referenced drawing model will not be scaled, and the scale of referenced drawing will always be 1:1。
3. How to set these Scales to achieve this function above?

Earthwork Design in Cut Section
Dear
The question is about earthwork design in cut section. In the cut section we want to intersect earthwork slope with the subgrade bottom layer. so that we can cut the existing ground up to the subgrade bottom layer and fill it with the greater CBR material.
When we try to do it with Earthwork Design Wizard the proposed toe ends up with existing ground level and the drainage layer and subgrade layer is not extended up to the side slope resulting incorrect quantity of cutting. (First Image)

ConceptStation Trial
Hello,
I’ve downloaded the trial version of ConceptStation. When I try and use the geocoordination services, it prompts me to sign in to the connection client. Using the account I registered with however doesn’t seem to allow access.
“This account is not associated with an organization.”
Is there a dummy account for trial users or a work around? Just trying to get a good feel for the software right now.

Hi,
I wonder what the function of Detail Scale in Place Named Boundary by civil cross section dialog is?
In the help Doc. "the Detail ScaleSets the scale at which the named boundary will be placed" what is the meaning?
I find that even adjusting the its value(from 10:1 to 1:100……), there is nothing happen to my sheet model and drawing model.

currently I try to do Cross section as in example:
few examples with only 1 axes (down axes).
When I do that, one cross sections = one axes.

Cut slope 1:1 for foundations.
Hi,
I have a question regarding on how to create a cut for some isolate foundations (square shaped) with a cut slope of 1:1. So far I have tried to draw a square, assign an elevation and then apply a linear template but it can not create the 'hole'. I want to determine the volume that need to be excavated for that cut.

OpenRoads - Error in Calculate Superelevation window
Hi!
I'm trying to design superelevation using 10.00.00.120 version. After uploading standards from file delivered by Bentley: AASHTO_2011_metric.xml, I'm not able to fill in any gaps on te window "Calculate Superelevation"... In the tutorial on Learn Server the gaps were filled in immediately after selecting file with standards...
I’ve also tried to upgrade to version 10.01.00.15, but with no success. Overwriting old verion didn’t change. I even tried to remove old one from the system and install new one – verion still remains the same: 10.00.00.150…
