I find watching a OpenRoads video to explain, after a 2D file in a attach terrain model DGN file, if the activation of the terrain model, you can right-click to generate a 3D view, but I operate many times without success, will just pop out another 2D view.I don't know which step is wrong.I am a new user, if you can, I hope you can get a more detailed answer, thank you.

Is there a Way to Select/ Highlight Elements with Specific Features?
Hello,
Is there a way to select and/or highlight elements that have a specific feature applied? This would be very helpful when checking to see if elements have been changed. I'm looking for functionality similar to the D&C Manager in GeoPAK that allows selection or highlighting of elements in the design file that match the database. I think this functionality should be a part of the Feature Definition Toggle bar if it doesn't exist. I know there are a few enhancement requests to highlight terrain features using Project Explorer, but what about this situation? Any workarounds? Thanks in advance. I am using OpenRoads GeoPAK & InRoads (SS4).

OpenRoads Designer error message
When I open a file created in Bentley Powercivil in OpenRoads Designer, I receive the following error message: Unable to load/create dialog item of type 'IconCmd'; id=58 from dialog/task "2D Modify" (id=59,60,-981, and 61 generate the same error message as well as id=9 from "TRANSFRM", id=33 from "MGDSHOOK" and id=-462 from "USTN") Are these tools gone for good?.

(IR SS2 or 4)Referencing in SHP files - how to get them in the "right" place?

I received an SHP file (and associated data files) from the archeologists for a project I am working in. I have NO idea how to get it referenced in anywhere close to my data.
It doesn't help that my information was surveyed in local coordinates. We do have a drawing that connects the local location to the State Plane coordinates, and I was hoping the SHP would come in there.
When I attach the SHP reference as Geographic - Reprojected, it comes in close, but not close enough.
Coordinates system for my drawing is reported as IN83-EF. Coordinate system for the SHP is UTM NAD83 Zone 16.
I activated Bentley Map, but I have no idea what to do with it.

OpenRoads Not Importing Alignment Correctly
Hi I'm running InRoads .878 and I have an issue with the way openroads is importing alignments. I have an alignment in XML format from a designer that checks per plan when I import it into Native InRoads. However when I import the XML into OpenRoads or import the ALG from memory OpenRoads messes up the stationing. The issue seems to happen near STA 359+90.47. When I review the geometry reports in OpenRoads the PI for that curve is listed incorrectly. After this glitch the alignment is then off by about 300STA. Any ideas how to fix this or what the issue is? I can upload the files if given a link.

ORD - Subgrade Components coming thru the finished grade
What would cause my subgrade component to display on top of my finished grade component?
The light grey component of aggregate is coming thru the fill slope component of grass. This is sparatic as you zoom in and out. Video Card?......Also, I have a trail of grey colors coming from my mouse from time to time.

Cross Sections omit Existing Surface
I'm using InRoads Suite V8i (SS4) 08.11.09.878 inside MicroStation V8i (SS4) 08.11.09.832 product.
I'm creating Cross Sections from one of several models.
The dynamic cross section viewer shows the existing ground line just fine.
I get the sections printed to graphics but always without the existing ground surface line. All levels are displayed. I get all the other graphics I requested, but not the existing ground line.
Why does the existing ground line not show up? I cannot calculate volumes this way!
What items shall I check / how to resolve?

InRoads V8i Civil Geometry Schema - Compare/Differences between SS2 and SS4
I've developed a custom XML Report stylesheet using the Geometry schema defined in InRoads V8i SS4.
Now my client is asking whether the same report stylesheet it can be used with InRoads SS2, but I do not have access to the schema definitions for SS2.
Are the differences between SS2 and SS4 Civil Geometry schemas documented anywhere that I can easily access?
Alternatively, can I get access/download the SS2 schema files without having to install InRoads SS2? That way I could compare the schema files myself.

Is there a way to toggle off the end section diagonal line in cross section view?
Here's a picture of the unwanted diagonal line. I believe it shows because it's the end of a shape? Is there a way to not display that diagonal?

TIF pictures and trrain do not overlap in the file
In the new 2D file, attach has two DGN files, one is a TIF picture, and the other is a trrain file. Are using the "consistent global" option, I see in the help file, this operation can be two perfect coincidence, and I have layered, I do not know what the error occurred.

Intersection Grading in InRoads SS2
Hi All,
I am relatively new to using the Roadway Designer in InRoads SS2 and just started to learn how to do intersection grading using the program. After watching the video on Bentley's website as to how to do this, I am met with a problem once the intersection is developed and I am lost with how to fix them. Below is a picture of the plan view of the side road. It looks to me like the features on the right curb return do not extend to the end of the radius, and this is causing a discrepancy in the final surface. I originally thought this might have something to do with the stations not matching up or the templates interval being too large. The stations match up to the 0.001 and the template interval is set to 1'. I am really struggling to figure out how to fix this minor problem, if someone could please guide me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it..

Import LandXML (.xml) file into MXRoad
Hi Civils Forum,
I exported an alignment from OpenRoads as a .xml file, but when I import into MXRoad SS4 and try to load the model, it says the model contains no strings.
The procedure I used are below:
1. In Openroads, I assign Alignment Feature Definiton Geom_Baseline.
2. I then Export as a LandXML file (using version 2)
3. Then in MXRoad, I go to File > Import > LandXML
4. Then Browse to, and select the .xml file
5. In the LandXML Import (File Contents Summary Window), I select Alignments Mapping
6. I type in Model Name, and the select Style Set (I have tried several Style Sets without success: civil features, detailed design, MXRail)
7. I then select a mapping feature from the drop down box on the right (again I've experimented with a few of these with no luck)
8. I then click OK, and then Import
9. But when I load the the model in MXRoad, it says 'Model Contains No Strings'.
Can you advice?

Corridor - Point Control
I lost my Plan Element information under the point control when the design line work was modified. I have tried to use the drop down and select a new element but it doesn't seem to stay.
Anyone else have this issue or know of a way to fix this so I don't have to create my point controls again?
