Is there a way to station an alignment without using Regions or R1, R2, etc.?

Is there a way to station an alignment without using Regions or R1, R2, etc.? It seems that once you use the station tool, it automatically creates a station equation at the beginning of the horizontal geometry line. The R1 shows up in cross sections, and I don't have any station equations.

Thanks!

CpnceptStation 2 Lane Split Ramp to 2 Single Lanes After Split

Question. I am having trouble placing templates in ConceptStation.

What I have is a 3 lane highway with a 2 lane exit ramp which then splits into 2 one way ramps. I cant figure out how to place these ramps and ramp intersections. The quick sketch below explains what I need to do.

Drainage - Network - Design

Using InRoads SS2 Storm and Sanitary, when I apply "Drainage - Network - Design" for a given drainage network, the computation only occurs for the first pipe run and then stops.  This doesn't happen for every drainage network, and I'm not sure what is unique about the problematic network.  Any feedback would be helpful.

EXTRA TRIANGLES created in XML when exported DTM to XML

I have a surface which has a gap in between as shown in the image (RED).  After exporting out to XML I tried to imported the XML back to Inroads to see whether or not the XML matches with the original DTM.  Surprisingly, the XML created extra triangles in between where the gap is.  Did I miss something in the process of exporting DTM to XML?  How can I get rid of the extra triangles in the XML?  Please help!  Thanks.

I am studying the OpenRoads , but I find that the information is very few. Where can I find the study materials? It would be better if it was a CONNRCT edition.Because I am a beginner, I hope to be some basic learning materials.

Inroads SS2 - Microstation SS4 - Tools>Application Add-ins crash - Any ideas on what would create the software to crash on clicking on the Application Add-ins toolbox?

Could a read only C:\Program Files\Bentley\.... lock for the menu configurations be causing Inroads SS2 to crash?

Stopping Sight Distance Check in new Connect Edition

Are there any native tools in Connect Edition, similar to MX Road, to check stopping sight distance along an alignment, specifying object alignment, eye alignment, comparing with a surface, and report it to a text file as:

Station | Distance Achieved

This was a native function out of MX Road, and Bentley did not bother to place any tool in SS4. Did they put anything in Connect Edition?

Snaps sporadically off by a few tenths or hundredths of a unit

I'm using InRoads SS4 but this might be just a general Microstation question; when I try to snap to certain objects, the snap will occasionally be slightly off (a few tenths or even hundredths of a unit). Is there some setting that controls the acceptable accuracy of a snap? I haven't seen a pattern, except that it seems more likely to happen if the point I am snapping to is close to being lined up with my AccuDraw X and Y directions. Often the tentative snap location even seems to be right on but when I click to accept it still places my drawn element in the wrong spot. Also If there is a better forum for this question I would be happy to ask it there. Thanks for any help!

I had to reinstall my Microstation and now there is some strange polar data select feature on that I can't get to go away and it is overriding my rectangular accudraw. Anyone know how to make the data select "normal"?

DTM - Build Triangles - Dissolve Options - Side Length of '1'

Per our State DOT CADD standards I need to create DTM .tin files a specific way. (DTM -  Build Triangles  - Dissolve Options - Side Length of  '1' )

A DTM.dat file has been extracted that contains breaks, spots, break voids, voids as well as a near continuous breakline around the exterior boundary.

In the past I have successfully used the method descried but currently I am unable to do so.

Below is a screen shot on how triangles are being created. It's clear that this option is processing interior triangles. How do I resolve this?

I am using Power GEOPAK V8i (SELECTseries 4) 08.11.09.878

ConceptStation Export to dgn

I was hoping that the export to dgn option would yield me a MicroStation file that I can manipulate but that doesn't seem to be the case. I am unable to manipulate any lines, shapes, etc., I cant even drop the elements. Am I doing something wrong? If this is the case, then I don't see the purpose of the export to dgn function.

ConceptStation Markings Problems

I created a template (shown below). The origin point is the barrier that separates NB and SB, there are CD roads on both bounds separated by barriers. The generic markings provided by Bentley do not seem to work with this template.

The image below reflects what CS displays. I need to display solid yellow and solid white on both sides of the CD road barriers. I would think the program would know if a barrier is present that the appropriate striping would be used but it doesn't. I did follow the video on creating custom markings and I did that but when I imported the lines into CS the yellow line was red and the white was gray and the CS lines bled through, so it looked pretty bad. They also bled through in the video.

Annotate Utilities in cross sections for PowerGEOPAK

I am having trouble developing the correct element templates that will be used for utilities.

I need the utilities to be detected as a feature when using Corridor Modeling Annotate Cross Sections. However the feature definition for conduits does not have a "Cross Section" definition associated as did the 3D linear features.

Any tips or advice on creating these will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Annotating terrain model in cross sections

I'm using OpenRoads (InRoads 8.11.09.878) and am trying to get a terrain model made up of 3d breaklines to annotate in a cross section.

If I make a corridor I have a specific point style that I use that would allow me to annotate (Offset, elevation) in cross sections that I cut that contain that corridor.  I was able to get a surface to annotate In SS2 because I could change the individual feature styles in a DTM and then select the features to annotate.  How do I go about editing a terrain model or the breaklines it was created from so that I can get station offsets to show up in the cross sections from OpenRoads.  Currently the terrain model shows up but when I go to annotate the cross sections no features show up.

Thanks,

Neal
