Unfortunately still no luck.

Tried running as Administrator, different Workspace, no Workspace, new empty dgnlib, new dgn, etc. And still the same...

You may need to have the file extension '.cfg', not '.txt' - if I remember correctly. Just an idea.

Mark just as something to try can you exit ORD, then back up
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenRoadsDesigner\10.0.0\prefs
specifically anything with naming starting personal
delete anything with naming starting personal and try again

Thanks

Ian

Thanks Ian, I tried that with no luck and went one step further and uninstalled it, deleted the ORD folders in users appdata local, programdata and program files and reinstalled. It is unfortunately still happening.

Maybe something fixed in Update 1?

Very slow Customize Ribbon dialog in ORD

Is anyone else experiencing massive delay in using the Customize Ribbon dialog in ORD? Using it is fine, but actually opening it takes a while.

I am also having a very lengthy wait (5 minutes+) for it to apply menu changes. My version of Microstation CONNECT does it instantly.

Hi Guys,

Is there someone who can explain how to manage Feature styles for the alternate surfaces, for now it's all coming up in the default Feature styles?

RE: Why is my smd feature value coming on default_point?

What I am doing is editing an existing smd file (DOT) and changing it so I can use different codes. The DOT smd uses numeric codes and I want to change it to alpha codes with alpha linking codes. I have done this before a while ago but something is slipping my mind. I tried using both a txt file and csv file. I have “comma” as my delineator. When I change some of the numeric codes in the smd file to alpha, some work and some do not. Hopefully I am missing a toggle somewhere. Let me know when you can, thanks, (The BC is under shoulders/medians folder in smd)

RE: XML Reporting for Profiles

You keep using the term profile and cross sections. While these are similar, they are not interchangeable. You can report on cross sections with cross section reports and profiles with profile reports, but not visa-versa. Some cross section reports must be triggered during creation. All others are available via the InRoads Explorer under the Evaluation > Cross Section menu.
Profile Reports are either via Open Roads under Vertical Geometry or in the InRoads Explorer via its geometry reports.

ORD, Static Cross Section Help

I am in need of some ORD Cross Section assistance. I have tried more than a few times cutting static cross sections into sheets in OpenRoads Designer without much luck for a result that I can deliver as a final deliverable to our team.

The sheet files being generated are not being clipped (I think) to the correct boundary. Also, the working elevations ranges are from 1020.00' to 1070.00' but my scale of "104" does not reflect this.

Also, I set each terrain within my terrain model reference to a different feature definition in my to allow for the identification of the different surfaces in the cross sections, but all of the line weights, types, colors look very similar if not the same. If there a better way to identify these line symbolgies to reflect the different surface types for comparison.

Can somebody please tell me what I might be doing wrong? Thank you.

Are any points sometimes a surface point and other times subsurface?
It looks like you have some points with un-merged coincidental points. This is evident from what appears so be more than one point name being displayed on certain points.
The point names become features in the resultant DTM named the same as the points. The software does not break these features into multiple features if in one template it is a DNC feature but in another a breakline. If you turn on cut/fill graphics in the roadway designer, you will probably see the same result.

ok finally resolved it - turns out my ORD icon had compatibility mode set to "Windows 8" and this seemed to cause the Customize Ribbon dialog to be so slow. Not sure why it was reacting this way, but all good now. Thanks guys

RE: component cut & fill report

Hello Deepak,

Are you working with OpenRoads? There are couple of ways to get the "Corridor Component Quantities". 1. You can select the corridor and from the context menu select "Reports > Corridor Component Quantities". 2. From the Task manager > Corridor Modelling , select "Component Quantities". The reports gives the quantities based on the components defined in the corridor template.

Hope this helps.

Hello

Can anyone please tell me how to get quantities of cut and fill applied by individual layers/components over surface, same as we get in native version (scarification report)

Thanx

RE: 3d Linestyle issues in ORD

Corerection this is also happening in MS CONNECT Update 5.

Any idea if this has been addressed in Update 1? It seems to be an issue when applying this linestyle via a Element Template (no matter where the RSC is)- direct linestyle application works fine.

3d Linestyle issues in ORD

Hi all,

I have some 3d linestyles that include mesh components that don't seem to display at all in ORD - they work fine in SS4 and Microstation Connect (update 4). Other 3d linestyles that just include shapes/lines etc. come in okay. They have always been stored in RSC files, but I have even tried putting them in a dgnlib with no luck.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have attached a resource file with the linestyles in question.

I need to use meshes for the components of the 3d linestyle for Navisworks (or any Autodesk) solid compatibility, ie. drop the linestyle and export otherwise I get thousands of shapes and lines, etc.

Chuck,

I merged the points between the two components, and the results were worse... Didn't fix the original problem, and created another. What to try next? Or I could send my IR files for you to check, let me know.
