Hi Sanders,
Using the same xin and data files that I had sent to you, my InRoads still
does not see the xin file. When I try to view the file through "Named
Symbology Manager" or "Style Manager", nothing shows. I have set through
InRoads Explorer Window and through preferences selected the correct file.
Even when I load the xin through Project Explorer and link the Feature
Definition the xin still is not being seen.
Again thank you for your support with this.

RE: Are "Blue top" reports or "slope staking" reports obsolete in SS4?
No they are not. You can still run them on xs created in ss4.

The OpenBridge Modeler Tool for quantities is quite different than the ORD tool. In ORD we can not import a table to change the unit cost currently. This is an enhancement that is being looked at for a future version.

Export Issue of Preparing for Bulk Editing Feature Definitions
Hi All,
I am following learning path
OpenRoads Designer Workspace Setup
but ran into "export" issue in lecture 2 step 4. Following the video, FDIE.txt file was created and saved in the designated workspace. The import works fine but the export seems not working but stop with a popup window. Please see the screenshots below. Since this step did not go through, I cannot go to the next step. I asked our network admin. He already give me admin rights in this computer. Any help is really appreciated.

Hard to say why based on the description... The "captain obvious" answer would be that the "BC" code is not being recognized. Possibly the formatting of the TXT file has changed at that code?
Are the other features in the TXT file mapping successfully?
Is the TXT file comma or space delimited? Has the appropriate delimiter been set?
Can you provide the TXT and SMD?

Why is my smd feature value coming on default_point?
In my SMD file I have the feature name as "BC". My .txt file has the descriptor as "BC".But in Navigator the feature is falling on the DEFAULT_POINT. What am I missing? I cannot figure out why the point will not go on the BC Feature.

RE: Choosing between Microstation or Inroads SS4 for opening ProjectWise DGN files
Hi Daniel,
If you go to the Tools>Associations>Programs>User Associations, you can create more than one association for any application in PW.
In your case, you could create both the MicroStation association and the InRoads association for the MicroStation application and set the MicroStation association as the default.
Then, when you right click>Open With, you will get the listing of both associations.
Unfortunately, both items they look very similar... To associate InRoads, I associate MicroStation and add a command line. But, both options are available.
Maybe there is a method to do this within Administrator so it can be applied across the entire datasource?
And, maybe the second association can be designated as "InRoads"?
That, I don't know - but it may be worth asking the PW Admin person or logging a support ticket.

SS4- Toolbar / Icon size?
Hi All,
I've just setup SS4 on a new laptop, with a very high display resolution, and the toolbar / icon size in MX is so small it's unusable. I am trying to run just on the laptop at the moment, with no external screen. I have set the icon sizes to large under preferences, but its not really helping.
Any suggestions certainly would be appreciated.

Thank you very much for your answer. However, I need solve this problem somehow. There are other serious errors, which I sent to support of Bentley and I often got the same answer "everything works fine in Bentley". Maybe there is problem in combination with other programs, for examble there ere often reported errors of NET Frameworks. For one error (refering to null pointer) I got answer from Bentley, however any information about what can cause this error or how correct it, only link to Microsoft where they write about this error. I have try to solve it but without any succes, than our IT specialists have try it but error is still there. Exact answer what I got from you is this: "Regarding the “object is not set on the instance of the class” I can only offer this information that I located support.microsoft.com/.../810098."
This problem last for more than one year and I´m not able to solve it with your support. If you have any idea what to do, please tell me. I can send you all loggs, I can enable you remote control of my computer or I can send you the whole computer? I have tried other computers and versions of the software but without any success too.

static cross sections bug
I have problems with the static cross sections that are in the video. By testing, I came to this: 1) with larger width more mistakes come and they are more obvious, 2) the same place in the dynamic section is displayed correctly, 3) if the cross sections are created in a simple element (line), then they are correct unlike complex element (corridor geometry).
I'm doing something wrong, or can it be fixed ?

Icons in toolbar still moving
Is it possible to fix the icons in the toolbar across all models? I hate when some icons disappear if I change model situation / profile, and the other icons moving. Very often after changing the model, i click on the icon, but he moves[View:/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/5922/p_5901_esuny-ikon.avi:940:0] to another place and another move under the cursor.

I also facing the same problem when I bought high end laptop with 3840 X 2160 resolution (UHD), I resolved it by reducing the resolution to 1920 X 1080,

Hi Marc,
I have reviewed the following page and have gone through the video's and I am still puzzled on where to find the XML report on the Cross sections I am generating.
I have a feeling it can be due to the fact that I am extracting my profile from a linear graphics entity. Does the XML reporting incorporate this information when cuitting a cross section in this manner?

XML Reporting for Profiles
Hello,
I'm looking for help in generating basic XML reports from profiles that I am generating. I am using PowerCilil NA (Selectseries 4) V 08.11.09.788.
I am able to generate my surface and cut cross sections via (evaluation - profile - create profile) highlight my line and create a chart with my desired cross section. From here I am unsure how to generate a XML report to view the newly created cross-section X,Y,Z information. Any information or videoes on how to generate XML files would be greatly appreciated. I have tried reviewing the program help director with no luck.

RE: Very slow Customize Ribbon dialog in ORD
Also, I am customizing the ribbon to popup with the horizontal geometry tab when I select horizontal geometry and vertical geometry tab when I choose a profile element, which works quite well (like Civil3d) using named expressions but adding in the "ribbon rebuild" command takes 5 mins (more like 7-8 mins) to complete.
Any help would be appreciated.

I've just had a quick play with customising the ribbon, just very basic stuff like adding Tabs and adding buttons moving things around, and its working pretty much instantaneously for me. I'll have a look at some more advanced customisation.
