As mentioned previously We've been stuck with using the MS CAD tools to build geometric elements that require snaps we don't want to rule and then apply civil rules to them.
We've also gotten in the habit of snapping template drops onto static cad lines to anchor them as the "dynamics" was causing us much grief with introduction of gaps, movement of template drops with slight template edits (where template drops use corridor strings as a reference). Needless to say our dgns get quite cluttered.
We've mentioned to the Bentley team the value of adding a a snap or all rule generation toggle to help us avoid building relationships where we don't want them but I doubt it will eventuate anytime soon.
Although relationship building in theory is a winner, we have lost countless hours trying to resolve processing loops and template drop movement by the most careful of designers. Surely the user should have a choice to have full control on what gets updated automatically or at least get notification on dynamic updates as they occur???
