For that, I need a .gpk file, which is associated with the alignment of the road.
We received .xml file that is associated with the alignment.
How can I create .gpk file from this .xml file?

I have looked on the video Create XS Sheet with End Area Volumes Annotation on the Wiki-page and I have some questions.
I have now done a little test-project with rock.
How do I get that value to show in the table in the cross sections?
And all components for the road we could get in the table i SS4, I don´t see any Annotation Definitions for them?
I have run the Create Cut Fill Volumes and get meshes for fill, cut(earthwork) and rock (as substrata).

I'm just getting started using CE & ORD on our first project. I'm pretty familiar with what can and cannot be brought over from SS10 but my question is, if I have typical details (lines, text, dim's) can I copy details out of SS10 and paste it into CE? Im okay with redoing the callouts but its the line work that I would want to recycle.
Any other input as far as do's or dont's in production setup is welcome as I am just getting started with this platform :)!

I'm trying to assign a civil label (place label tool) and assign it's settings to a function key via commands. I can get the dialog box to open and set the dimension style via keyins but there doesn't seem to be one for selecting the text favorite name.
This is what does work:
DOCCENTER PLACE LABEL - opens dialog
PLACELABEL WITHLABELLEADER ON - with leader
PLACELABEL ANNOTATIONSCALESTATE ON - annotation scale on
PLACELABEL DIMENSIONSTYLE "CUSTOM DIM STYLE" - assigns "custom dim style" as the active dim style.
Need the command for the text favorite.

In attached images, i am unable to see CL-LM line in plan, Yes it is below curb top but in plan i have to see.
what to do so that CL-LM to see in plan?
It's coming up with an error message 'E0008 surplus data' and not allowing me to load up the survey.
Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and ,if so, would be able to advise me on how to resolve this issue.

I recently watched a SIG presentation where the presenter was using a parent /child relationship to turn off/on the proposed median. I have always used display rules to do this. I was curious if anyone knew if there was advantage to doing it with the parent/child relationship as opposed to doing it with display rules. Maybe one uses more memory than the other? Thanks Brian

So I am adding a few additional annotation groups for cross sections. Its basically a copy of an existing one that has a few subtle changes.
In the DGNLIB file, the annotation definition looks correct in the preview (see below)
but when applied in the section, the annotation doesn't match the DGNLIB
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or where this definition is coming from.

When generating a profile intersection point from a linear element created from the template the intersection point does not update. I have my profiles/alignments in one DGN file and the corridor in another DGN file. Is there a fix for this? I am using version 08.11.09.872.
Starting this year, IDOT is requiring projects to completed in OpenRoads, and as first time users we're having issues. Not with using the program, but with keeping the settings saved/loading everything how it should be.
The instructions to install IDOT's ORD WorkSpace is really simple. I downloaded and extracted the files, I dropped them into a network drive, and I created a customization text file everyone can easily copy onto their PC locally to redirect the file locations. That works perfectly. The IDOT workspace shows up on the list, the levels load as they should, and that's about as far as we get.
First of all, the cell library does not load properly. At first I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, just had to attach it; however, after closing a drawing and reopening, it loses it. We have to reattach, and once again force our survey shots to load in the correct symbol (such as trees, signs, etc).
The second issue is with the color table. Once again, every time we close a drawing, the color table is unloaded and reverts to the default OpenRoads table. It's easy to fix, but becomes annoying fast as we have to redo it each time we open a drawing.
The third issue comes from our survey data import. We use the text import option, and set up everything as per our requirements (PNEZD), and then save the setting file so that it gets added to our list. Our hope was to just drag and drop our text files and choose this import option from the list, but it doesn't work. No matter where we save that import setting file, OpenRoads refuses to read off of it.
If someone could help me figure out these issues, I'd really appreciate it.

I want to annotate offset from certain point as shown in images, is it possible?
We are having issues with only a certain number of points are being loaded in to the Text Import Wizard, not all points in the survey data-it's only loading 30 points. After looking at several videos and scouring the internet, I've noticed that there is an option for "range", however, I do not have that option. Have you seen this before? My thought is there may be a Microsoft add-in that is missing and is restricting the full usage of the product. I've tried this on brand new installs of SS10. Any assistance is appreciated.

Currently, it is possible to install and run only one version of OpenRoads (or any CONNECT product AFAIK).
But different versions of ORD have somewhat different schema. Older versions cannot run design created with newer versions, and there is no way to save a newer version back to an older version.
This is going to be a BIG problem as more and more DOTs come online with their ORD conversion. I can see myself coming to a point where Indiana would only run on one version, Ohio will only accept a different version, and Colorado may run on another version entirely. Never mind partnering with other firms, and getting data in whatever version they run.
It is not realistic to believe that every major client in the world will be running the exact same version of OpenRoads at the same time.
I don't even know how firms are supposed to manage this.
Are we supposed to keep a library of laptops lying around idle, for working on projects with THAT version, and others sitting around for the projects with THIS version?
I've seen some mention of "virtual machines" but that sounds like a lot of IT overhead, which would be crippling to smaller firms. It may not even be practical for larger firms to do on a company-wide basis.
Lack of backwards compatibility paired with the inability to run different versions in parallel is going to hamstring production with multiple clients and multiple partners.
What is Bentley doing to address this problem?
