How do I label element Northing, Easting, Elevation in referenced files?

I am trying to figure out how I can annotate a drawing for a site layout within OpenRoads designer connect edition.

I have been able to "Place Label" with a text favorite that will appropriately label northing, easting, and elevation of elements that are live in the file (not referenced in) using the following text favorite:

N = Linear Annotation.Point Y

E = Linear Annotation.Point X

El = Linear Annotation.Point Profile Projected Elevation

However the elevation does not label on any elements that are referenced in, it comes through as 0.00'. Is there a better way to be doing this?

Because I have a terrain from these elements I can delete out the elevation and label the terrain elevation using terrain -> "label terrain spot" but that doesn't make one nice label with all the information.

Otherwise I would have to put all of my labels in the design file??? seems to defeat the purpose of having design and sheet files separate.

Thanks for the help,

Levi

SU Inlet projection (where is SUDA looking for sizing)

Folks:

I have able to do some fairly consistent profile projections of inlet/ manhole SUDA nodes. However, some of the node projections come into the profile fine (manholes, in particular) while others (various inlets) seem to not have a correct projection; in particular, an inlet which is over 10' Lg. tangent to C/L which shows up as a bit over 4' wide in a profile cut/ run. How is SUDA looking at the nodes for what it considers to be their actual sizes for projection?

[ORD] Revise a point placed using Civil Accudraw - Change One or both Offset from Element

Is there a way to modify a Geometry Point placed using Offset/Offset so that one or more offset elements is changed to a different element.

When laying our Right of Way, sometimes the Right Of Way geometry is recreated and is therefor a new element. If points were created using zero offset from an existing property line and zero offset from the Right of Way line, but a new Right of way line had to be created, it would be nice if one could redefine the origin element from the original ROW line to now use the new ROW line.

Can this be done?

Assign new profile to Civil Cell

Hi there,

I am relatively new to OpenRoads Designer. However, I'm curious if there is a way to assign a new alignment/profile to a Civil Cell? I'm also curious if there is a way to run a civil cell from a non-active profile? We are doing a road design on one alignment with two separate areas. The areas on the alignment are separated by approximately 4,000-ft, so we built two separate profiles on one alignment for the designs.

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.

Thanks,

Kelby

Corridor clipping anomaly

I am clipping a corridor to model a curbed island.  It works fine except along one single line on each area that is clipped, circled in yellow.

Here is a closeup of what is happening in cross section.  The shape is not closed and has vertical stub lines.

Any idea what is happening and how to fix this?

Thank you,

Dennis

Where is MXROAD option 102 in ORD?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me where can I find MXROAD linemode option 102 in OpenRoads Designer? In ORD it is possible to construct an element (EOP) with constant or linear offset (taper). Also possible to create reverse curves. But how to design pavement edge with 'cubic reverse curve formula' as we did in MX with option 102? In case of option 102 the applied horizontal offset varies according to a reverse symmetrical curve along the length. Note, the offset varies and the result is not two reverse curves.

Any idea how to create EOP that is as if it was created by MX 102? Or a workaround?

Thanks in advance

Zsolt

Missing PI Grips in SS10 profile geometry

I have a profile that was created quite some time ago in Inroads SS2 and brought into Power Geopak SS10. The profile is several miles long.

I want to make some minor changes but am noticing the "grips" with station, elevation, and grade control for PIs are missing. Only PIs though, I can move and manipulate PTs PCs and curve lengths:

I've noticed this before on other profiles I've imported that were created in SS2, but they were always shorter ramp profiles. If I needed to just drop and recreate it wasnt a big deal. This profile being several miles long, I dont really want to do that. Does anyone know a workaround or way to make the PI information fill in?

Thanks

Point clouds convert problem.

Hello,
Recently I have a problem with import * .las point clouds. The cloud is created in Afisoft and works fine in other software. After the * .las to * .pod conversion, the point cloud becomes distorted and deformed. The cloud has got a lot of false points. Previously, everything worked fine. Importing * .xyz to * .pod used to give good results. What is the problem? I use Bentley V8i PowerSurvey SS10 / SS10 PowerDraft 08.11.09.916.

View Grid values of a delta surface

Hi All

Using Openroads, is there a way to view grided values of a delta surface? in SS2, this was pretty easy in terms of generating an isopach and then viewing the values in text format on a grid.

The thematic height and updates to the view display is really cool in ORD, but ideally a 'number' format will be a lot easier to present the detail to the client  -  This would be more for the civil-type projects like parking lots, building plateau ect

If  I had a complete InRoads SS2 project and now for whatever reason I wish to promote it to an InRoads SS4(SS10) project, how difficult and time consuming is it to do that?

ORD Point Control Sorting

Has the ability to sort point controls been added?   Or, if they could be exported and imported, we could sort outside ORD.

I am considering removing all point controls and re-inserting them just so I can get them sorted.
