Page Layout Final Draw Maximization

In-Page layout tab, I have been created and suddenly I minimized the layout editing tab after that I can't able to maximize the editing page layout tab, I went to final drawing the page layout is newly creating please help me to clear this problem

[MS v8i Geopak SS4] Missing Preferences for Annotate Cross Section and Error 2753

Good day Everyone,

In the last few days, I noticed that the preferences that the company I work for has disappeared and no one is able to see them anymore, leaving only a default preference (see image). I'm not all that familiar on how Geopak saves and stores its preferences for XS, however, given that everyone at my workplace who uses geopak are able to see the preferences means its somewhere on our server. Any insight on how to reestablish the preferences would be appreciated. My other issue is that whenever i hit the Annotate Cross Section button I receive an Error 2753 popup that prevents me from doing anything. If anyone can provided any kind of advice, I would be appreciative.

Exporting Alignment to Google Earth - Station Annotation Omitted

When exporting a Horizontal Alignment to Google Earth (KMZ/KML) via OpenRoads Designer, the stationing annotation (text only) does not convert and is not available in the Levels list within Google Earth. The station ticks, curve data, and cardinal points translate successfully. 

I have only had success with getting the station labels to translate if I drop the annotation twice (once to Text Nodes, then again to Text). This is not a desirable workflow as we often use KMZ/KML files as a means of transferring project data between subconsultants and with our clients. 

I have replicated this issue with the delivered WorkSpace, Training - Imperial as well.

Are there any settings I'm missing to make this translation work, or is this a bug?

ConceptStation Intersection where main road doesn't stop

I am creating some intersections crossing a main roadway going through a small town.  I have added the cross streets and used the intersection tool, but I don't want my main lanes to stop, I only want the street crossing to stop.  I can't figure out how to do this because if I add an intersection it appears that all 4 lanes automatically have a stop.  On that same note, I have a road that comes up to the main road, how do I connect them if I don't want my main lanes to stop? Both scenarios are depicted in the image but as you can see everyone has to stop. Any tutorials on how to only have one of the roads crossing to stop?

SU Cell Annotation Not Updating issue

Folks:

I am having an issue with a Text Favorite updating within an SU Annotation. In short, the favorite is assigned to the feature name which in turn is the Drainage Structure Number. The text favorite within the cell updates for both a "Place Label" scenario using only a Text Favorite (white annotations as shown in the image) and also a "Place Label" scenario when using the annotation cell. However, the Text Favorite will NOT update with automatic annotation when I annotate the model (blue "bubble" annotations; and yes, the cell is placed within the annotation group for these particular inlets as shown in the attached image. The cell "bubble" places as is shown in the image, but it does not update the structure number. One can also see from the image that the text favorite does indeed work.

Could someone PLEASE let me know what is going on here? This issue is driving me crazy as I have tested just about every possibility as to why it is not updating automatically!

Creating a terrain from contours

I am attempting to create a terrain from a contour shape file that i imported, but I am getting a notice about Linking Features and it says "Too many features have been found to enable Feature Linking. Would you like to create an Unlinked Terrain Model?" Can anyone help me with this? The shape file is about .61 GB. Is the file too large? I use the Import -> GIS Data Types then Create from Elements for the terrain. Is there another way I should be doing this?

How are civil final deliverables being developed? ORD Only or ORD w/MicroStation?

I'm asking this question to get a general idea of what others may be doing as far as the development of their final work products.  Most of our clients still require a traditional plan set (i.e. title, details, tabulation of quantities, plan, profile, cross sections, etc.) as the final deliverable mostly in PDF format BUT sometimes hardcopy.  

For those in the same situation, if you don't mind responding, are you using both MicroStation & ORD to develop these plan sets?

Unable to Sync to Google Earth Pro from Power Geopak SS10

Good day, I am having some issues on a station running Windows 10 1909, has a nVidia Quadro P500 adapter. We're running drivers version 432. There is an updated driver version. I am going to try that. It would seem that this is some how related to graphics but I don't know how it would be with no issues specifically on this problem/application crash in the event logs. 

I updated to a new driver version. I switched the driver to the nVidia graphics adapter as the default mode. Not AutoSelect. Not sure if that works when there is no integrated graphics. 

We're running a supported version of the OS. We are running SS10. I believe this worked when I first setup the laptop a few months ago. 

I don't know of any specific issues that have happened outside of this. 

Synchronize Google Earth View doesn't work.  How can I get this operational again?

Version Checker not working as shown in the wiki

Hello,

I am using update 7 of ORD and windows 10 and I am attempting to use version checker to update some files from SS4 to OpenRoads. When I open a file in version checker, this is what I see. I am unable to use FILE EDIT or any of the other menu buttons shown in the wiki.

Which way is the best for a big design build project? Creating alignments in SS2 then importing to SS4. Or SS4 then exporting to gpk/alg?

Hi guys,

Quick question, In my previous projects the SS4 tools for creating geometry then exporting to gpk/alg worked the best. Recently, I've been told that it should go the other direction. First create in SS2 then import to SS4.

Just wanted to get your opinions on that. Thanks!

OpenRoads ConceptStation changing vertical alignment when placing ramp connection

I've imported a .alg file or .xml into ConceptStation from the geometry from OpenRoads Designer or previous versions, when placed, everything looks perfect, horizontal and vertical.

When designing a ramp connection, the vertical alignment seems so off at other given point, even though the alignments have the same elevation and mostly intersecting (please see attached images).

The problem is not where the ramp is connected as the software creates the intersection and everything, but the rest of the road loses the vertical profile to something way off.

Any thoughts on this problem?

Target Command Line open with custom config

Hello,

I'm trying to setup a shortcut to ORD.exe with an extra command in the targetline to open ORD with the configuration config.

The full path / command in the shortcut is as follows:

"C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition\OpenRoadsDesigner\OpenRoadsDesigner.exe" -wcE:\02 Projects\_Resources\_SBB\Bentley\FunctioneelBeheer\Beheer.cfg

It appears to open and then at some point it shows this error:

Needless to say, it DOES exist and is in that exact same place on the networkddrive, but it just doesn't seem to work.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what more I can try?

Hello,

Would anybody happen to know where I can find the file UserOverideGeodeticTransformSeed.asc mentioned in the Readme file located here:

C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition\OpenRoadsDesigner\GeoCoordinateData\Canada\Nad27Nad83\readme_Nad27ToNad83.txt

I'll be performing a coordinate transformation and based on the Readme file located at the link above (and the fact that I'm based in Canada and will be transforming the data to a CSRS coordinate system), it sound like I need to modify UserOverideGeodeticTransformSeed.asc to get this coordinate transformation to work.

Hi

I need to modify or create a new line style. In ORD line style library ( pavement marking) there is one called "Pawt Mark 300mm W - 0.6m Dash 0.6m Skip"

What I need is one who is "Pawt Mark 300mm W - 1m Dash 1m Skip"

How can I do that?
