COORDINATE SYSTEM FOR DGNDB CONCEPT STATION FILES

Hi

i have beeen trying to set the coordinate system for a new file using a custom coordinate system. I have read previous posts on a similar matter but there's no clear explanation on how to create a custom coordinate sysytem.

But so far, i have been unsuccessful. Am trying to set my coordinate system to Arc 1960 36N.  I want to create a file and use it as my seed for the different projects. I tried using the geo-coordinates but it was showing an error and the map was not displaying.

And how do i remove the extents of a file with a set coordinate system?

Thanks

Can you calculate the LF quantities with a grouped hole shape with the design and quantity manager?  I can't get it to recognize the shape.

Is it possible to define a curve by length instead of radius in order to match existing plans and the correct curve PI?

Thank you!

Visualize Terrain Contours

I’d like to permanently visualize contours generated from a terrain (with or without labels ). Any suggestion on how to accomplish this? I have seen the tool to permanently label contour elevations. Would like to accomplish above with whole terrain or clipping area similar to old GEOPAK > DTM Tools > Load DTM Features.

maybe similar to;

Deleting multiples vertices at once from terrain model.

I am experimenting with OpenRoads and am trying to figure out if there is a better way of deleting non-ground points that made it through filtering and into my terrain model.  In previous software, I would generate contours and then I could see obvious areas that points that are on bushes/cars/buildings were still in my point cloud.  I would delete (either by fence or selection tool) whole bunches of them, re-triangulate, and they wouldn't be in my surface.  I've only been working with OpenRoads for a very short time, but so far all I can find is the "delete vertex" tool which means I would have to manually delete every point one at a time.  I would appreciate any insight people could give me on the best method to speed up this process.

Thanks you,

Keith

Element not Valid for Tool

When trying to add breaklines to the triangles created by my scaleable terrain model, I go to FEATURE MANAGEMENT - ADD FEATURES, it prompts me to "Locate terrain model to add elements" but when I go to click on the terrainj model it tells me "ELEMENT NOT VALID FOR TOOL, SCALEABLE TERRAIN MODEL".

How do I fix this in order to add my breaklines to this TIN?

GENIO EXPORT FROM ORD 2019 R2 FEATURE MAPPING

HI ALL,

I've been trying to export featurelines generated by corridors and templates GENIO. I use featuremapping but string names all start with 0, not the character given in the mapping file.

so for example  EOP1 should remap to A000.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks

Mark

Thank you

OpenRoads-Vertical Alignment drops to current terrain

I created a horizontal Alignment using terrrain I created from an existing road model. I then created a Vertical Alignment from this and set it as my active profile.  When I clear my terrain (I created) and set the existing ground as my current terrain the verticle alignment breaks up on my multi view and in my 3D view it is at the current terreain level, wheres it was 2 m above it before Imade it he current terrain.

I needed to use  the road terrain as I used this to draw the road to follow the alignment + vertical crests and sags but now want to create road with embankments etc. is there a way to make the topo survey the current terrain and keep my vertical alignment.

Plan and Profile Generator / Create Profile inconsistently annotating event points for given station ranges

Power InRoads V8i (SELECTseries 4)

Version 08.11.09.904

I am having issues with event points (seemingly) randomly not being annotated on my profiles through 'view vertical annotation'.

I created a set of profiles using plan and profile generator, and only some of my custom event points are coming through (using view vertical annotation)

I should have an event point at 1204+96.xx, fully within my station ranges.

I make the same profile manually for the specified station range (Evaluation --> Create Profile, 1195+00 to 1207+00); and the event points do not come through (using view vertical annotation)

I make another profile manually (evaluation --> create profile), for a larger station range (1195+00 to 1219+00), do 'view vertical annotation) - and the event points come through.

It makes no sense to me why a larger station range would allow the event points to come through, but a smaller one would not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have verified that the vertical event points exist and are understood by inroads

Day one of InRoads and Week 3 of Microstation V8i Select 10 here. I have a 2d curb modeled in microstation that I now need to model as 3d in Inroads. The 3d surface has already been created. How can I place the 2d linework on my surface? When I use the drape surface function the line is shown on the surface however I cannot edit the data and it's elevation is in the thermosphere (see below) any help would be appreciated.

Set focus on Accudraw using F11?

This is not working for me in Connect. F11 seems to be calling up a VBA instead. I'm using a fresh install of ORD, so don't know why this is happening. How to fix?  Thanks

I want to change the compass origin in the middle of a command. I should be able to tentative snap to a point without accepting and then hit the "O" key to move the compass origin.  But, it's not working.  Using fresh install of ORD Connect.  Any ideas?  Other short-cuts seem to work.  Thanks.

Export to dtm

I am trying to export a terrain model as a dtm. The actual export seems fine. When I open another file and create a terrain from file, there are less contour lines and they are not in the same locations as in the model. Also, the contour call outs are about 1/3 of what they should be. I have compared the model to the exported dtm and found a few things
1. If I turn on the triangle network on both files they look exactly the same other than the fact that the contours are in different locations
2. Both files are in FT when I look at the file settings
3. If I use the measure distance tool, both files measure the same distances.
4. The both files label the contours in FT units

In another file I imported the same dtm but this time I chose meters as the sources' units. This time everything looked correct including the contours.

Any information on how I could correct this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Loss of functionality after crashing Subsurface Utilities

$

Tonight I was setting up a small drainage design job in Subsurface Utilities (OpenSite Designer) when the software closed suddenly. Now I have a couple of problem while in

  1.  I can't see the dashed line showing the linkage between a catchment and the node it is connected to. The properties show the linkage exists, but I no longer see the graphical indicator
  2.  I can no longer select a catchment boundary and edit the vertex locations.

How can I get these functions back.

Details of what happened:
This is my first drainage project in OpenSite and I had place nodes and conduits and was in the process of adding catchment areas. I had added the first two catchments and attaching them to nodes. The crash occurred after adding the first few vertices in the third catchment.

The crash was silent (without error messages), closing OpenSite Designer completely. (like Thanos snapped his fingers)
When I started OpenSite Designer and the reopened the project, I got a message that Subsurface Utilities noticed a crash and there may have been some data loss.

I haven't noticed any data loss, just the loss of functionality above.

Is it possible to profile an element to a tilted plane, equivalent to the old DESIGN 152 command in MX?
