Civil cells of headwalls

I was wondering is it possible to create civil cells for headwalls or end treatments for culverts?

I'm aware of SUDA but have never used the product so I'm not sure if this is already possible.

Sidewalk Elevation Nodes and Line Slope

I am involved with a lot of sidewalk and accessibility projects in which elevations and slopes of sidewalks in road right-of-ways are very critical. i.e. sidewalk cross-slopes and running slopes have to meet minimum criteria of ADA and PROWAG. To date, to perform my designs, I manually measure every distance and elevation along a sidewalk or street crossing to calculate slopes and to see if it is constructable. This is very time consuming and requires a lot of trial and error. For a particular instance, I have setup a simple square intersection in an excel spreadsheet for an intersection crossing. I have manual edited the formulas to calculate slopes and elevation differences based on entered existing and proposed elevations (see attached).

 communities.bentley.com/.../Crosswalk-Grades.xlsx

I was wondering if there was a way (VBA or existing tools) in Microstation (or OpenRoads/Geopak) to draw out a proposed project (a line), enter the elevations at the ends of the lines(a text box), and automatically calculate the slope of the line based on my entered data? Just having the ability to automatically see the slopes as I change elevations would be a tremendous help in my work process. I typically work in 2D but would be open to 3D if there is a way.

Thanks,

Matthew

ENTER key action

I am working in Open Roads Designer CONNECT Edition and I want to change what the "ENTER" key does. I would really like to have it do what the space bar currently does, and assign another function to the space bar. I know how to do the latter, but not the former. Can anybody help me with this?

clip a 3d solid from a corridor

Hello,

I would like to make a cut in a corridor sidewalk because I have to model a ford/crossing (like the picture). I use OPENROADS DESIGNER.

My idea is to place a solid 3D (the blue one in the picture), and clip it from the corridor.

After that, place in the correct site a solid 3D with the correct "wedge" shape.

But the problema I found, is that : 1) I cant use "Cut solid" neither "Difference Feature", between a solid 3D and a part of a corridor. And 2) If I place a shape (drawing 2D) and use "clipping reference corridor", the program make a total cut of all width, and I only need to cut a defined volumen, only the superficial layer, not every one!

How could I solve this problema? What would be the best way to model this?

Thank you very much,

Patricia Manzanero

Edge of Pavement Elevation OpenRoads

Hello All

I am using OpenRoads

I want the Edge of Pavement levels (Left offset and right offset) to plot when generating my profile sheets. In my framed profile annotation group I have set the 2 edge of pavement's both to Secondary profile as my only choices are "Active Profile", "Active surface" or "Secondary". When I start plotting the Profile Sheets I get a pop up that states "Resolve Aliases for Definition: Frame". I then get to chose what the secondary profile is. I can however only choose one target and then both my left edge of pavement and right edge of pavement have the same levels, which is obviously not what I want.

How do I set a second Secondary Profile. Or if this is not possible, how do i generate the Edge of Pavement levels differently?

Thank you

OpenRoads Designer starts, shuts down and & opens and closes dgn-files sloooooowly!

I have OperRoads  Designer V10.01.00.48 installed in my machine. It is super slow and very unproductive if one needs to open and close several large files during the day. The program starts and shuts down much slower than MS V8i and dgn files take at least twice as long to open & close as well. I wonder is there any way to speed things up in configuration level? I have a capable workstation with 32MB ram so it should not be a bottleneck. Our organization workspace folder & recources are in a shared server folder. They work fine but will they slow down the program? MS V8i has always worked fine with network resources but I wonder is OpenRoads Designer somehow different in this aspect? In the current state I can't really use the program because it wastes so much time.

Start of Alignment showing previous chainage after truncating

Hello,

I had designed an alignment with a starting station as say 19+600. Now as per client requirements, our scope has been revised to start from later chainage of 19+900. Using Element method, when I truncate the horizontal alignment to 19+900, in display the alignment shows from 19+900. But while creating a master string and doing the vertical profile, the option of new chainage at datum shows the previous chainage of 19+600 only. Am I missing something ??

Hello everyone,

I am a user of OpenRoads Designer U4 and I would like to know if it is possible to determine the minimum point of elevation of the terrain in a cross section using a template.

Thank you very much.

Mx W1003 Unable to best fit triangulation between points.

Mx v8i SS2

Dear colleagues,

When trying to perform an Isopachyte triangulation Mx freezes at over 80% in a long list of "W1003 Unable to best fit triangulation between points" warnings. No other error messages. The warning info in the Mx Help Errors and Warnings reference is a bit brief, "This warning may be data specific, please contact your MX supplier."

The task at hand is a linemode series of commands:

TRIAngle,tri,tri
TRIAngle,tri
964,tt00,tw00,ts00
999

with both tt00 and tw00 already generated and trimmed. Only two points outside, and a little over a million points within the triangulation.

Anyone knows the W1003 warning, and how to prevent or bypass it?

When I attempt to print with Print Organizer while logged into ProjectWise PowerGeopak crashes.  Print Oranizer works when not logged into ProjectWise, and printing without using Print Organizer works.  Others in our office can print using the same pset as I do.  Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Create Three Terrain Models Three Sites which are Geographically Separated

Situation:

One Survey CADD file. One Field Book. Two Data Files. Three geographically separated sites. [See the image below.]

I want to make three Terrain Models from the survey data.

Should I put a boundary around each of these sites then go to Terrain Modeling Graphical Filter tools? How do I create a boundary for each separate site (quickly)? Not sure what is the best workflow at this point.

Any thoughts?

Associated string not in the same direction as the reference string

Hello,

I am working in MX Road SS4. I have a model with reference string and and associated string. But while generating Profiles, I get the error that "Associated string not in the same direction as the reference string" and the string does not get added in the profile box. The associated string is in the same direction as the reference string. Even by using the reverse string option, the same error persists. What could be the possible reason.

Attached file shows the point number of associated string in the same direction / increasing order of the reference string.
