Hi Guys, Im trying to set up Layerworks templates in OpenRoads. My question has to do with the feature definitions. I open the .itl file but when I want to edit the template it requires an feature definition. How do I edit these feature definitions and where are they stored. I've had a look in the folder structure and I can only see the .itl files.

I've found a South African Standards - SA Templates.itl but there are no feature definitions available when editing these templates.

Here are the feature definitions available when editing the metric.itl

Unable to create temporary file for undo: C:\Users\aandrew\AppData\Local\Temp\Bentley\MicroStation\8.11\o_Dof88niaENmS1PChQ4Mg\. Undo currently disabled - changes made to the file will not be undoable!

I have checked the location of the temp file in the configuration an in the C drive they appear to be in the correct place however the error still comes up at start of a new Microstation of Geopak session. Also as a result of this I don't have access to certain commands I get the "unknown key-in or command" when I try to toggle information or view attributes etc. Does anyone know how to sort this out or is the program corrupted I'll have to reinstall.

When exporting a profile created in ORD U3 to DWG, the VPI gradients drawn on the profile are changed from the percentage gradient shown in ORD to +0.00% in the DWG.  If i omit the self attachment in the references tab of the dwg export options, they display correctly, but then the profile longsection geometry of the terrain and design are removed from the display.

Image attached of the problem.  The gradients in ORD are showing as -8.00%.

So I am using the Drafting Notes to make my work easier but I am not able to elongate the in-line leader of the "Place Plan Note". Right now the length of the leader is about 3.5 and I need it to be 7. Can anyone help me with this? I have been looking for a solution for a while now.

Hey everyone, I am working on designing a sanitary sewer line through a site. I have the line made and the profile works fine. After I made my sheet to show the profiles for the sewer, the information that would come from annotation is missing. The reason I say the information is missing, is because the labels are there for slope, ground elev, and invert elev, but the values that are associated with these categories are not there. After further inspection, I removed the annotation from the model and re-annotated it. All the information showed up for a few seconds, then the values disappeared again. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this situation.

Hi,

I'm trying to define framed annotation for cross section and it looks there is a scope for improvement in collision resolution functionality. Please see attached screenshot: I would expect red segments of leader lines to be removed and tick (marked by me on blue) to be adjusted as well. Can you please confirm it's a limitation or I'm missing something? Thanks.

I'm trying to create a Subsurface Utility project with the Import LandXML command in Geopak SS4 - 08.11.09.845

the file is generated from Civil 3D and I have done so in the past without error.  For some reason this file causes the error shown below.

I've compared past files that work with this one and they are the same format just different data.

Any thoughts?

I am trying to Copy Portion of Surface to eventually LandXML to our bridge guys, so that they do not need to load all nine miles of project surface.

Two of these portions went pretty well. This third one is not going as easily. I can copy the portion I want into my desired (empty) surface and I register no errors. However, when I attempt to triangulate this new surface portion, I get the error "Tolerance problems were encountered while creating triangles. This problem may be resolved by rounding the data to the nearest thousandths" I press OK. Then after a couple more minutes, I get "Triangulation halted. Untriangulatable data found at Northing:478861.0940, Easting: 1516838.9190, Elevation 550.000. Check point data in this area for errors."

Because I can't triangulate this data, I'm not allowed to compress it or thin it.

The original data I'm trying to use is suspect, but I'm not allowed to change it. Is there anything I could do to my copied portion of the data to ferret out and eliminate these "bad" points? What errors should I be looking at in the "point data in this area"?

In power geopak ss4,

(1) in dynamic settings window I can not add point style.

(2) when I add new component and change feature definition then window is popping up but is blank so I can't add feature. definition

(3) after adding components I . can't change feature .definition  automatically.

Would anybody help me out?

Hi all,

Is anyone else having frustration with the popup menu in ORD U3. In SS4, you select the element and it instantly appears as you would expect. In ORD you select the element and need to hover over it quite a bit for the popup menu to appear, which is very frustrating when you have multiple elements in the same location and have to cycle through them all again.

I have confirmed my accusnap popup settings are identical - is this been fixed in the upcoming Update 4 version? It's a simple thing that adds unnecessary frustration.

Hello,

While doing Vertical Profile from Quick Alignment, I get the error "G String not suitable for Quick Alignment" (Screenshot attached) and I am unable to proceed. Will someone explain about this ?. Actually someone had done Horizontal and Vertical alignment by Element Method and I wish to quickly modify using the Quick alignment method as I am more familiar with it.

Dear Sir/Madam

We are using MX Road Suit SS4 Version 08.11.08.879. We are unable to create AutoCAD drawings from MX Suit. Whenever we do the process a error message shown by the MX Road Suit. A Screenshot is attached for showing the error.

I've not worked in ORD, but want to plan for its eventual implementation and workflows. I did work on a large Ss4 project and given the dual platform nature of Ss4, the workflow was to export any design information to InRoads and display it using the native tools for all sheets except for cross sections. This usually prevented any sheet files from ending up with automatically generated 3D models. I say usually because it did occur on occasion requiring some fancy footwork to strip it back off.

In ORD, will certain workflows result in some sheets having 3D models? If not, is these a specific workflow that helps avoid having this happen?

I'm importing survey from genio into OpenRoads update 3 but the features all come in on Default level, named Breakline001, breakline002 etc, with no symbology. This is almost completely unusable as I can't tell what anything is, can't filter objects to create a terrain.

Is there any sort of mapping or symbology that can be applied, or even a way to have the features named after the string codes in the genio?

Hi,

Can anyone please share any video or suggest me the procedure showing the methodology for modelling of MX road strings using open roads(SS4). Basically self done the design in MX road and imported the Design and CW strings into Open road Technology(SS4). Now I need to model it using Open road tech tools. Kindly guide me.
