Can anybody give me the workflow for annotating crossings features like asphalt road, powerlines, Pipelines in profile (plan and profile) in OpenRoads Designer (connect edition) and the crossing details should be dynamically updated if the alignment gets re-routed in Plan.

The method we've used to represent cross drainage in a roadway project is to create a template for the culvert. The template follows a specified flow line profile. It also has a number of display rules that may be turned on or off. These display rules represent the headwall/end treatment and main drainage structure. Then the 'create profile from 3D feature' is used to tie in the grading as a point control.
Is this the best method to show a culvert?
Is there a method to export both the top corridor mesh via Export tin or dtm in addition to the corridor's components? This is for import into SS2 to display cross sections there. I can get the top surface to import as a tin but need the components as well.

An essential deliverable for engineering surveying is the exported graphic dxf file from a dgn.
This creates design linework used to stake out in the field (grids, features, column C//L's)
Previously, all you had to to was select the graphics on the screen, go to file>export, save as dxf, and click selection set in options. copy and paste to the field controller.
I am having trouble getting anything that resembles a deliverable in ORD.
Advice from some says try save as 'dxf'. I would prefer to export, but gave it a go. A large crash occurs.
Then i try export to graphics up on the field book ribbon, which creates a new dgn but without survey data. Sounds good, but then why does it then as for a fieldbook to locate?
i include a field book (?) then i get a new dgn that i do not really want. I try to export / save as these graphics and get 'error writing to dxf file'.
Can anyone confirm that a selection set of graphics in the dgn (no survey data / geometry data - just design linework from manual creation or from a design reference) can be simply written to a dxf file.

A customer wanted to have a elevation profile along with a table with different rock parameters constructed along tunneling system we've created in InRoads.
Roughly setup in InRoads the project looks like this:
We figured the easiest way to make this was to create table and profile in 2D and print out a png, which we would then assign as a material on a surface behind the tunnel system.
The problem is that the materials need to be extracted as a local copy along with the DGN for it to work.
Is there anyway to make assigned materials work with ProjectWise for example? Without having to assign the materials again.
We want everything to be included in one file. A 3D-pdf was not good enough and an i-model did not work any better.
Would love some input on this topic.

We are redesigning an Interchange and need to remove the existing cloverleaf. Otherwise I'll have my new design cutting through parts of it like tunnels.
What is happening to the transition areas? It seems to be ignoring the material attached to the 2' buffer between the shoulder and the Cut/Fill.
I want to create a plus 1 foot vertical offset within the profile view. Really, it is for construction purposes, so I want to see the ground profile and the plus 1 foot vertical offset. Is it as simple as using the copy tool or are there specific tools for this purpose? I wonder about the "specific tool" as I may want to make permanent profiles in the same manner later. Can't find any specific tool help on BE Communities, which covers this action specifically.
Can a terrain model be clipped to a civil cell boundary in the same way a corridor can be clipped by a civil cell? Currently my junctions don't show through the terrain model when in cut.
This is so simple; I'm getting frustrated that I can't find it in help or searching here.
I have a number of alignments to annotate in my plan drawing. I would like to know how to set the annotation preferences (for stationing, curve data, etc.) to automatically use {space}"Alignment Name" as the suffix. What is the character or symbol that represents "alignment name"?

Hi all,
I would like to know if it is possible to bring 3D geometric information from linear utilities (designed with SUE workflow within OpenRoads Designer) into AECOsim Building Designer.
I mean the whole volume information and not just its layout as a 3D linear entity.
In the first image I can see 3D data in SUE which I would like to maintain back in AECOsim (in the second image I've lost volume data from the conduit whereas the inlet has been properly transferred). I've just opened the DGN from OpenRoads Designer into AECOsim; I don't know if there would be a better workflow to do this.
I would appreciate any suggestion or help!

We have a significant BIM requirement for the High Speed 2 Rail Project in United Kingdom.
We want to add too the subsurface features and map too project layers, so it passes CAD QA.
Is there a method to update the subsurface features definitions?
I watched the Workspace training videos and it states that Nodes and Conduits are not supported in the import/Export process??
Is this still the case?? What options do we have to get additional elements added to the library.

I'm trying to export alignment (horizontal + vertical). Has anyone been successful with exporting alignment to either MX genio or LandXML? Regardless to which version I export, XML file is empty whereas genio file looks like this:

Does anyone have a method to create a tunnel template that has multiple points to represent the curvature of a tunnel that doesn't involve manually setting offsets? This would obviously take a very long time.

I created a model of proposed improvements in PowerGeopak and imported into ConceptStation. After import all of the materials appear to import correctly when viewing in "Conceptualize". When I move over to "Visualize" the materials are incorrect (Grass changes to Concrete) for all materials.

When importing a proposed 3d model (dgn) from PowerGeopak, the existing terrain covers up the proposed model (in cut sections). Is there a way to clip out the existing terrain in CS? Is there a way to make an imported model take priority over the existing terrain?
I spent the time to create levels in my templates for materials, but Conceptstation just reports gross volume for pavement. I understand if the final goal is to port back to ORD, but since I have the ability to create pavement options, I just assumed it would report the different types.

Do anyone know a solution to display the difference between two surfaces. i would like it to be drawn as colours in intervals. For example 0-0.5 m fil in one colour 0.5-1 m in anoter colour. etc...
It's possible to find a lot of information how to do it in geopak, mx, inroads. But i'm working in Powercivil SS4 / Openroads Designer, and i can not find any solutions.
Does anyone has an idea to fix my problem :)

Testing custom striping in ConceptStation 10.00.06.47. The striping displays fine in the Conceptualize window, when I switch to visualize it disappears.
All the ConceptStation native items display, but the imported draped stripes disappear. The stripes are using the yellow marking material exported out
of ConceptStation. The single yellow stripe was placed in ConcepStation.
