If you go to Tools > Application add-Ins, you can turn on 'Horizontal and \vertical \elements Add-In'. Is that what you were looking for?

This is scheduled to be included in a future release.  You are correct it was in the EAP2 for testing, but they found some problems that they wanted to fix before including it in a release.

ORD - Import Template

Hi,

Where's the option to import a 2D drawing to a template from elements? It was available in the EAP2?

Thanks in advance.

can you describe one of those lines in your GENIO file. I'm not familiar with GENIO files. and please describe your assumed coordinate system in detail. UTM is just not enough.
what about this answer about us survey feet unit?
are you still looking for a solution?

Geopak WAN Issues

Hello,

We are intermittently experiencing issues with Bentley GEOPAK Suite V8i (SELECTseries 2) 08.11.07.615 as described in this previous post:

[View:https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/f/142/p/15354/30603#30603:940:0]

"User1 opens a file over the WAN. User2 attempts to open the same file and does not get any sort of warning that the file is already in use. User2 then has access to all tools with no "Tool not allowed. File is Read-Only" messages. Levels appear to be incorrect, but the file functions as normal for both users. The only indication that anything is amiss (besides whacked levels) is that User2 gets an occasional message that the network connection has been lost. Retry and keep going. Ultimately, User2's changes never save, but a lot of time and work can be wasted in a file that User2 should not be able to access at all. Meanwhile, User1 works and saves normally."

There wasn't a fix stated and I was hoping someone may know a fix.  We use Panzura as a file server and  do experience latency from time to time between sites.  The projects with issues are Geopak projects that are worked between sites.  Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response.

Tried with provided option by trouble shooting option. But problem has not been solved. Still annotation window am unable to see. And also after trouble shooting, software is asking each and every time administrator password.

Kindly suggest.

Hi Cheetan,
You need to make sure you are running the MXROAD on ADMINISTRATOR mode,
Guest or Standard user not advisable, talk to your IT department.
Check what type of antivirus you are running as well, Some of them will block the application.
And also UAC must to lowest.

When applying a dimension, open the Dimension Styles dialog, and amend the Units to be the units required. The Dimension Style can be stored in a DGNLIB for use everywhere.
Read the topic "Drawing Composition > Annotations > Dimensioning" in the Help file.

Aleksander - that is the way INTERFAC works. When going from cut to fill, the 'flip' point is interpolated at the level datum string (LDS), giving the situation on the left of your diagram.
You can specify a barrier string (261/262 - field 1=BARR) to get this point moved away from the LDS, but you will still have to manually amend the strings - see Example 26 in the Help file -Linemode>Interface.

Hello,

I can't cope with input interface function creating earthworks. I'm able to write a right fill/cut conditions but there must have a different names of strings and get awfull transitions areas without ditches (gaps). I need to make a manual corrects in such places. Is there any solution to manage such thing. Below is part of my input (sections "S" - survey, "D" - ditches levels) and dwg with drawing:

Thanks Mark, I know BARR functionality, but it isn't solution :(
I've tried multi line cut-fill-only-261 solution but I failed :(
Probably this is a first civil3D advantage over MX.

Take a look at this wiki article, You have Microstation Connect as part of the ORD product so this could apply.

communities.bentley.com/.../10583

Are you running in a custom workspace/workset? If so try just running the default untitiled that comes with the software and see if the issue continues.

I asked around some and don't believe there is anything that has "fixed" these type latency issues when multiple people access the same files over a wide area network. They did suggest looking at the following article regarding file access with Shared Network Drives.

I also looked around some on the internet and came across a webinar by Panzura regarding File Open latency issues and how to resolve them over WAN.  I don't see much information on it but thought I would share this as well:
