Yes, I do realize that you almost invariably have to edit any template that you drop. Hence, the custom ITL (or a series of them). I wish I could copy both the client's published ITL and my own custom ITL in the project folder. That way, (if the interface was changed a little to support this) if I find that my client's ITL doesn't handle the situation I need, I can easily select the custom ITL and the template inside it, rather than adding it to the client's ITL through a tedious series of clicks.
That way, when the client publishes a new ITL, it won't ruin anything I've done. And it will reduce the amount of work associated with maintaining an ITL for each project (though that option would still be available).
But at this point, it definitely seems I've hijacked your suggestion thread, and that's not something I wanted to do.
