Give the Civil Tools > Analysis & Reporting > Analyze Point command a try. You can select this command and select the Terrain as the element. The command will work as a 'tracking' tool so you can move the cursor and it will track the elevation, slope, and aspect of the location of the cursor. You can also use snapping and locks in conjunction with this command to get precise location information.
This link is specific for the Analyze Point for corridors, but it can be used for geometry and terrains as well.
