There must be some setting on my PC that is preventing this. I can change these settings over and over and as soon as I execute a command that opens a new Report Browser, they revert back to the registry setting. I am allowed to manually edit the registry using the Start Menu > Run... and launching regedit.exe. But this is hardly how we would one most users to make this type of change.
If anyone knows exactly what setting is needed to result in changes in the Format Options dialog box to be saved automatically to the registry, please post that information. I just hope its not too broad a setting that IT would find unacceptable.
Note, I am on an assignment at a remote office, working on a PC setup by a large, multinational firm with a very tight rein on the PC's. My normal seat is not so tightly controlled and I am given more freedom on that PC than here. Even so, it's possible that the default settings back at my home office work as designed.
However, it would be a great enhancement that within any tool that allows one to assign a default report for a particular command, would also allow saving and restoring a specific set of registry settings for the Format Options dialog box.
