Since I cannot get an explanation as to why it is necessary to link Civil and Survey XIN's separately, I will ask this question.
After performing the link in a DGNLIB, if we decide to reorganize the Feature Definitions into logical categories, can we also combine Survey and Surface features under a common name?
We use a single unified XIN file in Ss2 and are bringing it into Ss4. One reason we do this is so the survey features when exported to a surface, use the same style in the DTM as they did in the surface. It also reduces the locations where edits must be made when the XIN is updated.
So, after the two step linking process, many of our survey features are duplicates of linear features with the same name, except one has a 1 appended to the name.
Is there any reason that the linear feature with the property "Is Survey" set to False could not be changed to True and all of the other survey settings set to match the likes survey settings and to then remove the original linked setting?
And if we can do this, are there any other settings we need to investigate?
TIA
