I am not sure of every element type that this variable controls and adds information to the properties. There may be some cases where it is the Extended or Raw Data that appears as mentioned in this post:
One item I noticed is in the Properties of the Civil Horizontal Geometry. When this variable is turned on, it will add the information for InRoadsPersistData (which is different than the InRoads Export Data) as seen in the following screenshots:
