Longtime Autodesk (C3D and prior) user and still very green with Microstation/Geopak, an FYI in case this helps you understand what I’m doing wrong in PowerGeopak. I’m attempting to create a profile but having issues. What I have is layout with alignments that I created using the Horizontal Geometry tools. I then created a profile view with the Vertical Geometry tools using the existing surface and creating a proposed profiles for the mainline and side roads & entrances. Next step was to setup a new dgn with profiles. The mainline road profile seems to work, but I’m having an issue with a side entrance. The profiles were created for a P&P by using the Geopak > Plans Perpetration > Draw Profile and D&C Manager. The first issue occurs when I use the Draw Profiles. I selected the TIN file (same file used to create the existing ground). The ground surface displayed does not match the elevations shown form point data, or the existing ground surface. Second issues is the D&C manager is not drawing the ground surface, only the proposed grade line. Even when I select the Existing Ground Profiles (using IDOT setup). Not sure if there is any relationship to the problem I am having getting the profile shown correctly, but the Profile View has gray and blue area in the profile. These areas state “Element is in a mode that is not allowed in this tool. Not certain why parts of the Profile View have this and others don’t. Everything in the Profile View was created the same way, and the existing surface extends through these areas.
