I'm sure there's a lot of ID10T errors in this process...I can't even tell you how some of this stuff came about. I can tell you that it's my job to "make it so".
I have a small project that was initially designed in IR SS4 (kinda/mostly) The corridor was designed, templates applied, cross sections generated - OK. Then we needed to edit some of the sections by hand (I know, I know - but it was MUCH more expedient to make all the small changes that way than to try to figure out how to model and control and constrain every little detail. Small projects come with small budgets that have NO room for R&D). Now I have to edit the plan view to reflect those section adjustments.
Except I can't!
For example, the line illustrating my limits of construction/tie down points calls itself a "3D linear element" (& "Locked Civil Element" in plain MicroStation) (in a 2D model, BTW) and will not respond to any kind of break, trim, drop, modify tools, nor can I delete it (even from Inroads). This is not helpful at all.
I understand why Civil elements might be locked when a drawing leaves the design software for regular software, but there has to be some way to UNlock them. Not everything can be templated or controlled or modeled 100% all the time, and manual changes ARE going to happen.
HOW can I make the manual edits I need to make on the designed geometry???
Thank you
