Getting error that says "civil data found that is from a newer version of a civil product" when trying to use OpenRoads Learn Server.

Hello,

I am working through the Learn Server training lessons for OpenRoads but receive an error when opening the downloadable lesson files from the server. The error only allows me to open the file in "Read-Only" mode which prevents me from being able to work through the lessons alongside the instructor.

I am using OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition - 2019 Release 2 Update 7 - Version 10.07.03.18.

I've tried doing a "save as" to a different version of the software or simply just saving the file in another location and attempting to reopen it. I've gotten to where I can open the file in editable mode but it loses a lot of the data that was originally included in the file, including some required data for the lessons. 

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Sheet Index - Renumber Sheets to inherit folder name as prefix?

I am trying to renumber sheets so that they take on the prefix of their folder name. I would like the sheets in the PP folder to be named PP01, PP02, etc., and the sheets in the XS folder to be named XS01, XS03, etc. I can't get any sheets to renumber no matter what I try.  It's not clear to me what the settings should be in the Manage Sheet Index dialog. Can anyone please explain the proper workflow?

Cross Section Element Annotations

Hello,

I am trying to annotate an element in my cross-sections so that it updates automatically when my corridor changes. Specifically, I am trying to annotate the bottom elevation of a swale so that when the elevation changes, the label moves with it. Currently, I am able to place a label and have the correct formatting and elevation information placed, however when I change my model, the labels at the bottom of the swale don't move along with it.

When doing research, I see that "for Annotate Element to work the Elements Feature Definition needs the Annotation Group defined." The swale bottom lines currently have the "Ditch Line" feature definition. FYI, I
 am using the FDOT workspace.

1- How exactly do I define an annotation group for this "Ditch Line" feature definition? 

2- Should this be done in my corridor modeling design file? Or the roadway XS file?

Custom Line Style

Hello everyone, 

I'm working in OpenRoads Designer, and I created a custom line for the terrain.

However when I apply this line style for my terrain, it's missing some pieces. (The image on the left is the default line style for the terrain, and the one on the right is when I apply the custom line style).

Any solutions ?

Hi All,

Thanks for your time.

We use a small percentage of the capabilities of the product and traditionally have built tin files for the existing topography and the proposed.

Then we used the volume tools for overall cut-fill calculations, create a delta surface, then use "Themes" to create a cut-fill plan showing gradients of red for cut, and gradients of blue for fill.

The new product appears to be completely different.

Are there any resources or can anyone give me some guidance on this process using the new product?

We are currently using Bentley Geopak v8i (SELECT SERIES 10) 08.11.09.918

Editing Individual Station Template Drops

On a certain project I was able to use Edit Station to edit a few individual station template drops, but I can no longer edit any stations. I right click and select Edit Station, but nothing shows up, not even an error message, etc.  This is happening in multiple files.

It sounds related to this thread, although none of the suggestions worked

Investigating further I noticed that I CAN edit individual station drops when viewing dynamic sections by choosing the corridor, but I CAN'T edit station drops if I view dynamic sections by selecting the alignment.

This threw me for a loop because I wasn't noticing the different ways I was viewing the dynamic sections.  Is this how this is intended to work?

My reasoning was I didn't need to review every single template drop.  I only wanted to see the ones at the stations that will have printed x-sections in the final plan.  My corridor has drops every 5' so that there is an actual drop at even 25' increments, which are what we show on plans (in addition to a few extras where needed).

Openroads Cross Sections- Enlarge Stacked Cross Sections on a Sheet

How do I enlarge my cross sections that are stacked on a sheet to make them fill the sheet? The 20 Scale is the Annotation Scale, not the drawing scale (which is Full Scale: 1:1 Correct?) Alos, ORD 2020 Release 3 keep crashing upon trying to actually print the sheet view!!

Alignment Curve Names

Good Morning,

Is there a way to name specific curves in an alignment in OpenRoads Designer? Previously, using PowerGeopak, we were able to name each specific chain so that when the curve data appears on the plan sheets and geometry report, the curve name was shown. I can't seem to find this similar feature in OpenRoads. Any help would be appreciated.

Where can we find the list of Enhancements or Defects?

I know there are any number of outstanding Defects and Enhancements.

I would like to be able to file Service Tickets to throw my name onto the list of people requesting certain things to be fixed (or replaced or added). However, finding that information is pretty much impossible unless I happen to stumble across a discussion thread mentioning such a thing. The ORD forum doesn't even have an Ideas section anymore...

Where would we, as users, be able to search for and support Enhancements or Defect logging?

Connection Client says "Working.."

See below for a screenshot of my issue with Bentley Connection Client as when I open the client to fire up ORD it just stays on this screen and won't let me input my credentials:

Has anyone else had this issue and know how to resolve it?

How to display ProjectWise path or just filename in references dialog box instead of the local file path for ProjectWise files in use?

This would be a nice feature since local DMS#### folders don't make any sense with ProjectWise folder paths. Working from multiple project folders is difficult. I am surprised Bentley has let this happen for so long. Working in ProjectWise is a big headache when trying to manage files from two different systems. Who came up with this system?

I've managed to get by using ProjectWise for just over a year now, but forget it if you need to reference files from multiple projects. Then trying to keep track of what is from where.

I would like to not display PW_WORKDIR:dms............. (just file name)

I can not get the View Control to work with a long Right Click.

I have tried the following article.

It did not work.

I also tried the following from the ViewSet Readme.txt

Viewset.mvba is utilized in the delivered example workspaces by using the right mouse click
and selecting View Control.

The file:

...\Configuration\Organization-Civil\_Civil Default Standards - Imperial\Dgnlib\GUI\Custom_Menu.dgnlib

...is what provides access to this menu system.

Additionally, this variable needs set to activate in your workspace...

MS_VBAAUTOLOADPROJECTS > $(CIVIL_ORGANIZATION_STANDARDS)Macros/ViewSet


Notes: The viewset.mvba macro is calling the xml settings file (ViewControlConfigurations.xml)
that needs to reside in the same folder as the viewset.mvba file unless you use the
config variable shown below. The values in this xml file can be adjusted
but all of the names in this XML file are called by the mvba so the names of the
settings should not be revised. The distances are in percentages of available screen area.
The upper left corner is considered the “0,0” percent location. The bottom right corner is then
the “100,100” percent location.

If you need to put the settings file in a different location, a variable is supported
to locate this file at any desired location.

Example:

VIEWSET_SETTINGS_FILE = C:/My Settings/ViewControlConfigurations.xml

I do get all of the Macros that I can run but, not in the long right click on the screen.

Utility Properties Dialog Box on Catchments are not showing

Whenever I click on "Utility Properties" for a catchment it does not show the Utility Properties Dialog Box. It doe not matter if I do it directly or through Properties Dialog Box. Utility Properties will show for Nodes and Conduits. Does anybody know what could cause this?

ORD: MDL Loader: Could not load application ustnvba

I was trying to load AutoTurn into Bentley ORD Connect Edition 2019 R2. I had changed the configuration variables:

MS_MDL                             > C:\Program Files\Transoft Solutions\AutoTURN 10
MS_CMDTABLE_LOAD     > atcn
MS_GUIDGNLIBLIST         > C:\Program Files\Transoft Solutions\AutoTURN 10\AutoTURN.dgnlib

Now, when I go top launch ORD, a DOS screen pops up with the following message. After the message, ORD crashing after the splash screen. Is there a fix?

Proposed Cross Sections - Power Geopak V8i SS10

I'm trying to create proposed cross sections for an existing two lane road that is being widened. I've set up Project Manger in Geopak, I've created existing ground cross sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, pattern line file and shape file for the superelevation shapes. I'm now onto "Proposed Cross Sections" from Project Manager. I've begun going through all of the different selections in the "proposed cross sections box". The fifth item down in the proposed cross section box says "SHAPE CLUSTERS". On the right side of the box there is a button that says "TYPICAL". I get the following message when I click on the "typical" button...

Unable to locate Cell Library: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\PowerGEOPAK V8i (SELECTSeries)\PowerGEOPAK\Civil\samples\road\typicalSections\projects\basics\typicals.cel

How do I get this so I can proceed with creating proposed cross sections?

Inroads missing Modeler Tab

I have my Inroads installed and opened, but the Modeler tab with all the cross section & corridor commands are missing on the top menu bar:

Could anyone help me to resolve this issue? Is there any add-on I suppose to install with Inroads?
