We are still fine tuning our Managed Workspace for ProjectWise. During my testing today, I discovered that the CIVIL_ROADWAY_TEMPLATE_LIBRARY variable, while defined, is not actually managing the file's use. It is simply copying out the file, where users can make all the edits they want, but when they exit the product, there is no prompt to check it back in. Nor does it show up in the local document organizer as a files needing to be checked back in.

How is a Template Library supposed to be shared in ProjectWise so users know that:

1. The file must be checked out
2. If copied out, it should not be edited
3. When checked out and edited, Checked back in.  

This is far from a trivial matter. Since we are testing our Ss4 workspace, we still have many projects in Ss2. Does any of this work in ss2 and if so, does that also apply to IRD files?

While my email is still my former company, I am now at a DOT. This is a mission critical issue.

I imported terrain and an aerial from the Geo Coordination Services and that worked fine but I recently received a .tin from the surveyor and I was able to import that just fine and it came in at the same location as the terrain model from the Geo location Services, but now I cannot get any raster images to import! Everytime I try and import a jpg I get the failure message that says "No GCS found" even though everything has been in the same coordinate system the entire time.

When I try and creating a new ConceptStation file and choose the option to "Import local files" without using Geo coordination services, the .tin file from the surveyor comes in fine but the jpg does not import at all. I have a world file associated with the jpg as well.

Hello,

I need to find the volume between two terrain models but also restricted by a plane elevation (floodplain). Is there a way to accomplish this with PowerGeopak?

Hello!

I failed to import  file ConceptStation, and I got an Import Failed message, and I don't know how to fix it.

"import error: DbnDbStatus error code: 65539: Please contact the engineer."

Hello!

When I export terrain model with capture google earth image, I succeeded in InRoads but failed in ORD.

Using ORD I only get a line.

I don't know why?

We have double plan sheets. Plan view labeler will not give correct stations on the bottom plan. "Use ref file coordinates" option is on. It only gives the end of the chain station no matter where you pick. Top plans are correct. The ref files are all in a motif ref'd into a master file with sheet clips. Why and How would it be placing the bottom clips in the sheet in a different coordinate when the sheet clip file and all sheet clips are in the correct coordinates and the use ref option is not working? thanks

I am currently trying to edit a horizontal alignment and for some reason handles are not showing up. The element itself if not locked and handles are enabled in the file. Any ideas as to why this is happening and/or how to fix the issue I am currently facing. 

I have attached a photo of one of the alignments below.

I am able to model my alignment correctly, but when I go to plot cross sections, I cannot get anything in "R2" to plot.  The input just reverts back to R1.   I was thinking if i ran it in a separate run I would be able plot them.  As of now, I need to manually edit the station on each cross section to show the correct "Ahead" station.  Thoughts?  Thanks.

I am only able to use Connect Advisor once. The second time, the search box highlights, but the input text doesn't show.

So far I have:

1. Uninstalled connection Client

2. Uninstalled ORD 10.01.00.15 and all associated Bentley programs Installed after my SS2 installation

3. Installed Connection Client 10.00.10.13

4. installed ORD 10.01.00.15 using all the defaults

5. Bentley Connection advisor worked on a test case.

6. Bentley connection Advisor will no longer accept typed input, all the other buttons work.

7. After closing ORD and restarting connection Advisor works.

8. Is this normal?  

9. How do I fix it so that I can ask a second, third and additional questions or should I just go through the Connection Center for now?

Hi,

When I turn on this layer on ORD "Draft_Corr_Design" the drawing is very slow to handle cursor is moving to slow, but when turning of it went fine. But I need the layer to edit the Corridor model.

Any idea ho to avoid this?

In SS4 we could configure the display of a terrain (ie breaklines/spots/contours), then drop using 'application elements' option to drop to simple microstation elements.  It seems this doesn't work in ORD.  How can you extract simple microstation elements from a terrain element in ORD??  Some of our estimators are needing breaklines for take-off in Agtek and the terrain is nearly 1gb.  I can't perform the drop in SS4 because of out of  memory crashes.

I know I could split the terrain up, but I'd like to know the ORD method for dropping/extracting microstation elements from a terrain.

I am attempting to create a public road approach. The Approach geometry calls for a taper from the mainline, leading into an arc, leading into another taper that ties into the approach road.
In Geopak, there was a great little tool that could accomplish just that. Is there anything like that in InRoads/OpenRoads SS4? I can see something that accomplishes something similar with spirals, but a spiral isn't what I need.

 I`m thinking to change PowerCivil SS4 to Openroads Designer. Is it possible to annotate vertical geometry and profile like it is using Inroads tools?

I was able to use the Horizontal Geometry tools to create my Taper-Arc-Taper edge of pavement. I had my Element Template and Feature Definition turned on.

Now I would like to be able to copy this geometry parallel to define my shoulder limits. But I can't select it - I get the message "Cannot transform this element because it has a rule".
I don't actually want to anything to THAt element - it looks fine. I just want to create a copy of it offset by 6' to create a shoulder.
This can't be that hard? can it?

Or should I not be assigning feature definitions until I am finished drawing my geometry?
BTW - It seems that when I use any of the MicroStation Modify Element tools (Trim, etc.) on any of these feature elements, they maintain their feature definition but they change level and lose their symbology. Is this related or another issue altogether?

This is Power InRoads v08.11.09.845.
I keep begging IT to give us the .878 update, but they appear to have other priorities of greater interest to them...

Is there a release date for the new ConceptStation?  I believe the v6 release was supposed to be at the end of October but I have not seen any word on this yet.

After watching the SIG this morning I tried the Bing Maps raster attachment, first in Microstation V8i which was successful, and then in ORD. ORD doesn't seem to work. The error says One Raster Reference failed to attach. Is the configuration variable the same in both applications?
