RE: Openroads Designer Connect
Joaquim, about a week ago Bentley's Ian Rosam posted in the Early Access forum that:
"We are working on added and updating Survey functionality in a subsequent release. OpenRoads designer can consume the SS4 survey resulting model output and you maintain the SS4 capability with the entitlement licensing with OpenRoads Designer."
So I presume it's coming soon but not ready yet.
As an MX user, I also notice that there does not appear to be any support for data in the GENIO ascii file format in Openroads Designer. Historically, most of our survey and design deliverables have been required to be in this format, as other design and survey software (and hardware) support it. So a lot of data has been preserved in this format. Would be interested to get advice from Bentley whether there is any intent to provide any import / export capability for GENIO data (particularly survey data) in Openroads Designer.
Openroads Designer Connect
Survey tools were discontinued of the Openroads Designer?
RE: Use of SS4 Feature Definitions in ORD
Use of SS4 Feature Definitions in ORD
Hi all,
As a lot of us have quite a number of established feature definitions in our SS4 workspaces, can these feature definitions be used or migrated to ORD without recreating the whole lot?
Understandably native styles will be gone but we already have all ours pointing to element templates in preparation for ORD.
Cheers,
Mark
RE: How to export .inpx file (vissim defult files) from inroads models?
Hi
OpenRoads ConceptStation can export inpx. So I think inroads whether there is such a capacity. But also thank you for your answer.

How to export .inpx file (vissim defult files) from inroads models?

How to export .inpx file (vissim defult files) from inroads models?
Thank you.
RE: Surface Checker
The Surface checker tool is designed to check a surface created from survey data. The surface checker searches the strings and points values forming the surface to find instances such as null points, single point, intersection points in the surface and reports them, so that you can check if the survey data is correct or any correction is required at such points.
RE: 3D View of my alignment
Do you need to create a 3D flythrough that will run along your alignment? Please refer to the link below, it will help you create a 3D flythrough.
If this is not what your are looking for, kindly elaborate your query.

About OpenRoads Designer, How to reduce the quantity of data points to make the model small?
Hi,
When I create the terrain model, the evelation points are firstly extracted from DWG file, but for some areas in which there are only contours, the contours has to be extracted to DTM files, but the model from contours has so many data points, so that OpenRoads Designer can not operate it smoothly! it is too big!
So, the question is how to reduce the quantity of data points to make the model small with proper way.
Best regards,
Daniel Chen
