This is my work flow for creating a clipped DTM model.
I use this method when creating my 3D drive through.
Save your active DTM to a file called clipped DTM and load in your corridor(s).
Now use the terrain tool Q7 (create a clipped terrain model)
Select the corridor grips as the clipping reference. I place my bridges in separate corridor so I don’t pick those.
Reset to complete and the DTM will be clipped to the corridor boundaries.
There’s a few issues when you have civil cells as the clip is not that great for linear templates..... For civil cells I use another method, which involves a few more mouse clicks... create graphical filter and then extract the terrain boundary and use that as the clipping reference.
