I do not think that many of the settings that are now controlled by Design File Settings or Configuration Variables is an ideal solution. I come from an InRoads world but have used GEOPAK as well and command preferences that can be saved and recalled offer a much more flexible approach. Certain tools still work using InRoads dialog boxes and some items have been migrated to Open Roads. Anything that places any type of label needs its own settings for precision, station label settings, etc. And things like stroke tolerances should be able to be accessed via a preferences or by corridor.
