Merging terrain models in Openroads SS4

I am trying to use the "create complex terrain model" command. I used this command before and it worked nicely. However, this time I am merging a proposed terrain model with an existing terrain model. I have a new 3d file created and have attached both models as reference files. Only in the tool, the terrain models are not populated. What am I doing wrong?
