It might help to know your current workflow. Your request for guidance suggests that you're using modeling tools, but Beebe's response suggests that you aren't (and can't, using the version you're on).
So I guess I have to ask this: Are you currently using criteria files? If so, drawing out a retaining wall will depend on rendering a profile for the top and/or bottom of the retaining wall, from which you would then draw out other elements. Does that help?
If you are using modeling tools (or will do so after upgrading to .615 or later), I will caution you that (from my own experience) the workflow is so vastly different you might as well be drawing plans on paper right now. But making the upgrade and committing to learning it and practicing it will pay off in the end. Just make sure you have a lot of resources at hand (mostly time) when you make that commitment.
