Yesterday, I discovered one of my Civil Geometry elements had some wrong direction components.
In InRoads, the Check integrity or Horizontal Elements > Edit Element tool would have made a quick fix of this. In Open Roads, I lost the corridor point control being used by this element and also lost its vertical profile fixing it the only way I knew how.
This is not progress.
Do some of the Civil Geometry tools offer capabilities that improve workflows? Yes. But many of the InRoads Geometry tools were extremely useful and some similar capability is desperately needed in the Open Roads world.
The ability to selectively discard rules is also needed. Sometimes, the path to a horizontal or vertical design is important. Sometimes, it is and ends to a means and the path to the result is far too convoluted to be worth preserving.
