Use the element selection tool and select the interval, then go to element information. At the top of that dialogue you will find a tree-like folder structure. You have to dig down in to the "depends on" fields until you find the original alignment that created in interval. Right click on that alignment, go to rules, and select "remove intervals".
This will remove the entire alignment and anything you might have built on the interval will be lost or unruled.
An alternate workflow you might consider is to export the alignment to GPK. Then in some other file reference in all your model information and import from native the alignment you want to cut your sections along. You can then use this imported geometry with the "create cross sections" tool.
Good luck.
