RE: [OR] Manipulating linework: tentative snap sometimes evaporates without additional input

I am using Power Geopak. But shouldn't they behave identically?

And you're asking for a video. If you need a video of me doing what I've described, either I failed to describe properly or something. Did I leave anything out? If so, please let me know and I'll clarify for next time.

And instead of asking for a video--which would require me downloading another utility--it should be as simple as me providing a log of actions taken by the program which describes what I'm doing and how it's responding, either in almost-English or in a machine language that it can process on your own end. Please consider this as an enhancement request. It could go a long way to improving troubleshooting conditions--especially if it was also user-accessible.

For the record, the element I'm trying to modify is a variable offset taper. It is dependent on a civil element: the centerline alignment. I am trying to snap this variable offset taper to match another civil element that is itself also derived from the same centerline alignment. I don't know how reproducible this is for the arbitrary case, but I know that it is repeatable within this one file I'm working in, and I've seen this behavior too often in other files as well. I'll see if I can reduce my upload package to just the two files.
