[OR] Accessing Earlier Iterations of Profiles After Trimming and Complexing a Newer Profile

I've worked on sections of my current project where I have had to created Profiles out of Sections of Projected and Offsets from other Profiles and 3D Geometry. Later, it becomes necessary to recreate sections of these and re-complex a yet newer profile. When I look at the properties of my "current" Profile, I can see the "Depends Upon" segments from earlier commands.

So my question is this: How do I drop the "current" Profile such that these "Depends Upon" segments are restored to their pre-recomplexed status so that I can create a new profile from these and the other elements since added to the design?

If there is no easy way to do this, then it is desperately needed as part of Open Roads Designer. A similar capability for Horizontal alignments is also something north looking at.

Also, how does one retain a 3D geometry from an Active Profile when, in the course of a workflow, it becomes necessary to change the Active Profile to another element for an indeterminate period of time? I had created a terrain surface from some 3D elements (alignment + "active" profile) and then needed to assign a different element as the active profile while making additional design computations. As part of that workflow, a number of these 3D elements effectively "went away" and suddenly, my terrain surface lost these elements and was re-displayed without the missing 3D elements.
