I have a microstation file with cross sections which were created using Inroads. The MS file contains graphics for several Cross Section Sets. When I went to add a surface to one of the sets using Inroads > Evaluation>Cross Sections>Cross Sections tool. The Cross section set was an option in the dropdown menu (under the Cross Section Set section) however when it was selected the graphics in the MS file did not highlight (put a box around the graphics in the microstation drawing.
I understand there is a text node which holds the xs information...I would expect the xs set not to show up in Inroads if this node had been deleted out of the MS file. I attempted to use the Translate Graphic tool in Inroads...but this did not work.
When I select the cross section set I want to work with in the Inroads> Evaluation>Cross Sections>Cross Sections tool under the Cross Section Set dropdown menu, I am able to turn a surface off and/or add a surface, but the MS file flashes erratically as it appears to be processing. when it stops, some linework and some of the of the other cross section sets are gone from the MS drawing.
After turning on /off another surface, the spastic MS processing, and then the disappearance of other linework, the cross section set I was hoping to work now is recognized (i.e. is highlighted with the box around it when selected in the Inroads Cross Section tool. I tried to save the file using save as and then another MS file name. But when I opened that file, the Cross Section set was not recognized.
Is there any hope to "recovering" the orphaned cross section set? There is a lot of manual work done therefore I don't want to merely recreate them.
Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
