Re: Power Geopak SS4 Setting up .smd .cel feature codes, and linking codes [Civil Design Forum]

Mr. Ray,

I am going to be using the classic cogo import method. I have the smd file and the cel files that our dot uses, but I cannot make sense of how or where to apply these files to make them do what I am wanting. I am afraid I am quite confused on how all these files mesh together to draw up my survey points the way I want them to. You may find dealing with me to be a  challenge.

Regards,

Tom

Do you want to use the OpenRoads Survey Tools? If so take a look at the following wiki page and review several of the videos to get your started.

Focus on the Basic Settings and the Survey sections first.

If you are wanting to use the native GEOPAK Survey then you will need to setup the linking codes in the Survey Project Preferences to match what you show in your post. There is also a toggle for linking code is after feature code in the Survey Project Preferences that you would want to turn on. Symbols in GEOPAK Survey are controlled by the SMD file, which means you would want to edit the SMD file and set the symbol for code "72" to one of the standard ones or switch it to the Cell option and pick a cell from an attached cell library.
