Greetings-
Maybe I am missing something, but I wanted to post this to be sure. I've noticed this on both InRoads XM and V8i SS1 (I have not tried SS2 yet, but I suspect the behavior will occur there, too).
I have two corridors: Corridor1 and Corridor2. They overlap somehow (a ramp into a mainline, two ramps near each other; it does not matter).
So I set Corridor 1 as a Target Alias for Corridor2. When running Roadway Designer, I can now see Corridor2 truncates to Corridor1. Makes sense, because of the alias.
But Corridor 1 does not truncate to Corridor2 in Roadway Designer. Still makes sense, because I need to set clipping options when I create a DTM using Corridor 1, and it will be corrected then.
So I then go to create the DTMs. Corridor2 creates DTM2, and Corridor1 creates DTM1. I set Corridor1 to be clipped by Corridor2, since 2 aliases 1.
If I create a single DTM using both corridors, clipping is as expected.
However, if I create seperate DTMs - DTM1 from Corridor1, and DTM2 from Corridor2 - DTM2 is corrrect but DTM1 is not. DTM1 overlaps DTM2, despite the clipping settings. It doesn't seem to matter if the clipping is End Conditions only or All, or how much overlap, or the type, or anything. If both corrdiors are used in a single surface it works as intended, but if I want individual surfaces no clipping is applied. I'm all but certain that is not working as designed.
My two questions are:
1. Is this working as designed?
2. If it is as-designed, what could you suggest for workflow? I want seperate surfaces but I need them clipped.
Thanks!
Jeff
