So back when I was working in Geopak with the Profile generator, I could work forward or backward from any point on my profile. This was quite useful as I neared the ends of my profile, where I could Lock the station of my end point, and work backward.
I have not figured out how to work backward in Open Roads/SS4 with that Dynamic profile editing. Of course, I'm still figuring out the best way to work with this at all, so please bear with me. I have roughed-in a profile, and now I want to refine it to better meet design requirements. the last segment of my profile is currently 34.6892' long. I need it to be 40.000'. If I try to use the dynamic-type editing and type 40' for the length of that segment, it extends the line past where I want it to end. I want it to hold that point solid, and go 40' the other way.
Is there a way to "lock" points on a profile? Is there a way to apply a value backwards instead of always ahead? Is there some other (maybe text/dialog based) way to edit profiles?
Thanks
MaryB
